http://tourvideos.com/ Rome to London by train, featuring the best of Italy, Switzerland, France and England. Jump to the different cities or watch it all: Rome at 2:34; Florence at 8:43; Venice at 16:53; Lucerne at 22:42; Paris at 27:50; London at 34:10; Comments at 44:39 Rome highlights include lunch at Campo dei Fiori and a walking tour to the Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museum and St. Peters, best of Europe. Florence is always listed in the world’s top-ten places to visit because of the Renaissance tradition we still see in the architecture, and the overall beauty of the city, not to mention great restaurants. Our walking tour with local guide brings us to the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and across the Arno River to Oltrarno. We also enjoy steak at il Porcospino, a favorite restaurant, with a most friendly waiter, Franco. Venice is the city of dreams, a place like no other, with water for streets and boats for cars. Our several walking tours bring us into the heart of town including: Rialto, San Marco, the Basilica, hidden restaurants, and of course, a gondola ride. Lucerne is an ideal town to visit on your trip through Switzerland, with a lovely pedestrian zone, historic buildings in the typical style, waterfront cafes and views, and nearby mountains including Titlis, which we ascend in this journey. Paris, perhaps the world’s most beautiful city, including: TGV arrival, walk to the Opera, Chartier dinner, stroll to Rue Montorgueil, open-top bus tour, Versailles, the Louvre, Latin Quarter and more… London, capital of England, is our globe-trotting filmmaker’s favorite city, and this summary demonstrates why this city is so compelling. We bring you all over the center of town, including Soho, Covent Garden, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Burlington Arcade, Fortnum & Mason, Changing the Guard, open-top bus tour, Inns of Court, The City and the Tower of London. Comments: An ideal Europe trip should include the major cities of London, Paris and Rome, along with a look at Switzerland in Lucerne, and the other greatest of Italian places, Florence and Venice. We summarize the journey with comments from our travelers about their favorites and general feelings about the trip, travelling by train and staying in each city for several days.

Get a ride throughout whole Montenegro, from the Adriatic Sea to the galleries and tunnels in the mountainous part of the country. Railway line Belgrade - Bar rises from the sea level to an altitude of 1032 m. The lowest point of the railway line is 3m altitude and it is located in the Port of Bar. The railway then slowly climbs to the Sozina tunnel. The Sozina tunnel, 6171m long, is the longest tunnel on the Belgrade - Bar line. After passing through the mountain Rumija the railway line meanders through the valley of Lake Skadar. Until the city Podgorica railway line is located in the plain. After the city of Podgorica the line becomes much more interesting. There is a canyon of the river Morača. The line runs through a multitude of tunnels and galleries, across many bridges and continuously climbs towards Kolasin. To overcome the high altitude difference at a short distance, a serpentine was made in the canyon of Mala Rijeka river. On that part the line crossing over the highest railway bridge in Europe. Mala Rijeka bridge has a height of 200m from river to track. On one part of the railway there is a tunnel Trebesica with a bridge built in it. During the digging of the tunnel mountain cleavages have encountered. This part of track had to be bridged. After Trebesica tunnel there is a continental climate and a different flora and fauna. The line highest point is located in the tunnel, near Kolašin. After Kolašin the line descends towards Bijelo Polje. The whole Belgrade - Bar railway line has 254 tunnels and 234 bridges. There are 102 tunnels and 96 bridges in Montenegro. The most prominent infrastructure facilities in the Montenegrin part are: - Tunnel "Sozina" ( 6171m ), - Bridge "Tanki rt" ( 200m ), - Bridge "Mala Rijeka" ( 499m long, 200m height ), - Tunnel "Trebesica" ( 5172m ), - Tunnel "Ostrovica" ( 3827m ), - Tunnel "Šljivovica" ( 2194m ), - Bridge "Tara I" ( 270m long ), - Tunnel "Radigojno" ( 2370m ), - Bridge "Tara III" ( 340m long ), - Tunnel "Razvršje" ("Mojkovac") ( 3246m ) and - Bridge "Ljuboviđa" ("Slijepač most") ( 450m long ). This video was created from train 1136 "Panonija" in July 2017. The train composition and all essential route information are displayed during the video.

This Winter Rail Journey on the 7-day Interrail Pass (myself) and Eurail Pass (Fanfan) was in early January 2019 during snowy conditions in Europe. Full itinerary here: https://www.bangorni.com/interrail-in-winter-train-travel-europe/ Day 1: Berlin to Heidelberg (Germany) – 2 nights Day 2: Heidelberg to Bern (Switzerland) Day 3: Bern to Zermatt (Switzerland) – 2 nights Day 4: Zermatt to Saint Gallen (Switzerland) Day 5: Saint Gallen to Munich (Germany) Day 6: Munich to Prague (Czech Republic) – 2 nights Day 7: Prague to Berlin (Germany) Winter is always the preferred condition and time of travel for us, when there are less tourists travelling in Europe, reservations are not really necessary for trains, and the scenery is just unbeatable. The trip was also inspired by the Glacier Express in Switzerland, but Switzerland is also where you get the real value for money on the Interrail/Eurail Pass. Otherwise we did start out in Germany, with cheap flights to Berlin Germany, as it is a convenient destination and starting point for exploring the eastern and northern part of Europe. We then hop between trains through Germany and Switzerland, taking as well a quick rail journey out to Prague in the Czech Republic, before a return journey to our starting point again in Berlin. For return flights. There will be a full and rather comprehensive blog is to come, but, for now, here is a quick round-up of the 7 days of travel which we were given on a 1-month Interrail Pass / Eurail Pass. Although, in total, it took 12 days given extended stays in destinations like Zermatt and Prague. For more on our lifestyle of travel in Europe and Asia check our website http://live-less-ordinary.com/. All material is produced by travel bloggers Fanfan and Allan Wilson.

Tickets from Paris to Milan or Turin start at just €29 - for information or to buy tickets online see https://www.seat61.com/Paris-to-Milan-by-TGV-train.htm A beginner's guide to travel from Paris to Turin or Milan by high-speed TGV train, showing the train interior & exterior, the scenery and the food on board. Three daily French TGVs link Paris Gare de Lyon with Turin and Milan, from €29 one-way booked direct with French Railways. The video shows the 14:41 from Paris arriving Turin 20:13, Milan Porta Garibaldi at 21:50, with an easy connection from London St Pancras by Eurostar. The video was taken in June, and there was still snow on the highest peaks - the weather wasn't great on this occasion, overcast with brooding clouds, the route looks far better in proper summer sun or winter snow! Fans of BBC Top Gear may recognise a shot or two in this video - I supplied a few clips to the Beeb for their Wembley to Milan TGV-versus-Mustang 'race' first shown in February 2013.

I was hesitant to upload this video due to looking like another stupid American, but I decided to upload it anyways --- this is what I feel holds a lot of Americans back. We travel a lot by car, carpool, Buses, but then rarely do we travel by train unless there are those that live in a big city. Even when I lived in Dallas, the complexity was not as difficult as those in the European countries. So this video is both for comedic relief, as well as to help those who do want to travel across Europe. The start of the video is in Prague, when I thought I was so overwhelmed by the 'VAST train station' ---- yet then was headed to the largest and most complex train station in Europe......Berlin. Steps to not screwing up backpacking through Europe: 1- buy ticket, reserve seat & make sure you are there at least 30 minutes early so you don't miss your train. Especially if you are traveling across countries. 2- Get on the right train, via the right platform, and make sure that the car you enter is the exact car you need to take (apparently the cars separate at different stops and you don't want to be left behind unknowingly) --- IF YOU DON'T KNOW, ASK!!!! Ask after you get on the train if you must, they will close the doors when the conductor blows the whistle. 3- Once seated, look at your ticket......look at the next platform you need to go to and when your train arrives and when the next departs. You will need to know this because you may need to run across the station to platform 12b from platform 1a in 15 minutes......and there is always the slow person.... 4- Keep your ticket in hand! You need it to scan in and scan out of each of the train stations. The ticket must be current, or you can get a fine. If you have a Eurail Pass, you can just scan the code on the outside of the ticket to get through the gates. The Eurail tickets sometimes have their own gates, so try to go with the gate not everyone is going through (if you can't understand the Language). 5- Make sure you are getting on the right type of train. If you get on the wrong train you can still get fined. It may be going to the right place, but if you get on the faster train or get on an inter-city train instead, you can get fined. Just hold your ticket up and flash it in people's faces (NOT FORCEFULLY) just a gentle suggestion as 'if anyone is looking at this, maybe they will tell me it's the wrong ticket, lol' 6- Bring your own water, your phone charger, and a travel pillow --- especially if you have a sleeper train -- small backpacks are the best.....just minimize by packing like the news told you the city was going to be bombed and you had 15 minutes before you had to be evacuated. That will get you everything you need in one bag. Yes you will probably smell......bring Febreeze.....trust me.....there are people who smell worse on the trains. If you are traveling to Europe for the first time and planning to do some train hopping, then email me at [email protected] and I will send you my free Train Travel guide. Traveling by train enhances your entire European experience: from genuine interactions with locals to relaxing journeys and no wasted time at airports. With quiet gazing through panoramic windows as you're whisked from city center to city center. With gourmet dining and no hassles. The train brings out our best. It's relaxing. It's serene. It's intimate. It opens us to everything the journey has to offer; the simple pleasures of personally connecting with other people and cultures. We also believe part of that serenity comes from knowing the train is a low-impact form of travel that preserves the authenticity of the regions and natural beauty we pass through. In fact, high-speed trains are three times as energy efficient as regional trains, but even the slowest train is 25% more energy efficient than cars. Is it any wonder trains are so popular? For access to the most choices and best rates, make sure you book in advance. Because a little bit of planning can mean a lot more traveling. With over 50 different railway systems, it's much easier for the North American traveler to ride the rails than plan their own trip on them. That's why we're here. Rail Europe offers a unified booking experience across Europe, with the ability to package products from different carriers. And we have special relationships with carriers that started over 75 years ago. These relationships have led to special agreements benefiting our clients, including technology that enables us to offer and sell more rail travel options than any other provider. It's simple. With Rail Europe you don't have to sort out the details, we already have. Visit us at at http://www.raileurope.com.

Wanna see Europe? Don't have much time and money? Consider do it by trains. Its relatively cheap with Global Pass and fast. Don't wait in airports and taxis. Travel direct to city center by train. But don't forget to spend time in cities too or enjoy open air of country-side. The life is short. There still so much to see.
