No Breathing In Class - Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen

No Breathing In Class Read by Michael Rosen fro The Hypnotiser You can browse and buy Michael Rosen Books here: http://bit.ly/MichaelRosenBooks "I wrote a book of poems for children called 'The Hypnotiser' some years ago and then it went out of print. I couldn't get anyone to reprint it, so I asked my son Joe to film me performing the book." - Noice! Michael Rosen Check out Michael's website for news, updates and fun. https://www.michaelrosen.co.uk Go behind the scenes and see how our videos are made: https://workbyjoe.wordpress.com/2015/... Who is Michael Rosen? Who Is Michael Rosen? My first book for children was called Mind Your Own Business and it came out in 1974. Quentin Blake did wonderful line drawings for it. Ever since then, I’ve been doing these things: Writing books Writing articles for newspapers and magazines Going to schools, libraries and theatres and performing the poems in my books Helping children write poems and stories Making radio programmes, mostly about words, language or books Appearing on TV, either reading books, or talking about books Teaching at universities about children’s literature Running workshops for teachers about poetry In any week, I might be doing all of these things! To tell the truth, I don’t really know what I’m doing tomorrow, unless I look in my diary to see. Review of The Hypnotiser Right class 6, RIGHT CLASS 6, I'm talking, I'm talking, I want complete quiet and that includes you, David Alexander, yes you...' 'The Outing', by Michael Rosen, just one of the fantastic and hilarious poems from his short story and poetry collection The Hypnotiser. This particular poem was read to me as a young child in primary school time and time again. Each time the names in the poem were changed to the names of the pupils in my class. It never got old, or less hilarious and I wouldn't hesitate in reading this to my future classes during my teaching career. Other great poems from this collection include 'The Car Trip'; a highlight of the sibling chaos that goes on in the back of the car when Mum is driving: 'He started it. I didn't. He started it...', 'Tomato 1'; the gruelling ordeal of being given a tomato to eat by your mother and you simply just hate tomatoes, and 'Tidy Your Room'; every child's nightmare. Each and every poem and short story relates to children through typical experiences that most would have endured. This book enlightens children's love and enthusiasm for poetry, an almost forgotten about genre for most children; a runner up to fiction books. This book can have many uses in the classroom; appropriate for children in Key Stage Two it can be read by the teacher at the end of the day during story time, like in my own experience at primary school. Or, during a poetry topic in Literacy, this book could model fun, interesting, age appropriate poetry that will inspire children to write their own poems. Likewise for shared reading; this book would be fantastic to put under the visualiser and look through with the class at the how poems are written, their structure, do they rhyme? do they tell a story? All sorts of things can be addressed with the class as a whole. This book needs to be shown to children, whether at school on the class bookshelf, or online where you can find video clips of Michael Rosen performing these poems; a great filler for those odd five minutes that arise during the busy school day. A Must read, not just for children but teachers as well! #Michael Rosen #Kids #Poetry

Just as an example Of how you're the coolest teacher If someone told you right now they didn't get their homework done You'd probly give them extra Extra extra credit Just for being honest And then say go have fun 4. Wonderful surprises right before your very eyes. Say, hibernation (hibernation), evaporation (evaporation), gravity (gravity), and metamorphosis (metamorphosis). Hibernation is the way some animals keep warm all day. In the cold winter months like a bear in a cave, birds fly south and that’s called migration, hibernation, migration. Frogs are in the mud and they sleep all day. And squirrels gather nuts in the autumn days, so they can stay warm in their winter ways. When they do then that’s called hibernation. Say, hibernation (hibernation), evaporation (evaporation), gravity (gravity), and metamorphosis (metamorphosis). Evaporation happens fast, it starts like a puddle but it doesn’t last. The sun comes out and it heats to steam. But you can’t see what seems to be evaporation. Evaporation, evaporation. Say, hibernation (hibernation), evaporation (evaporation), gravity (gravity), and metamorphosis (metamorphosis). Gravity is a special force, it holds everything very close to the earth. Just like a magnet pulling down to the ground, and what goes up must come down. Must come down. Say, hibernation (hibernation), evaporation (evaporation), gravity (gravity), and metamorphosis (metamorphosis). Metamorphosis is coming soon for the caterpillar and his cocoon. He changes to a butterfly. I don’t know. Do you know why it happens? Metamorphosis! Say, hibernation (hibernation), evaporation (evaporation), gravity (gravity), and metamorphosis (metamorphosis). Science is a part of our everyday lives. Wonderful surprises right before your very eyes. Science, Oh, Oh, Oh. Science, Oh, Oh, Oh. Science, Oh, Oh, Oh.

Nursery | POEM | Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen

Nursery | POEM | Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen From Mustard, Custard, Grumble Belly and Custard Published by Bloomsbury You can browse and buy Michael Rosen Books here: https://www.michaelrosen.co.uk/books/ "You Can't Catch Me" and "You Can't Put Mustard in the Custard" were first published twenty-five years ago and were groundbreaking in that they were full-colour illustrated new poems for children. "You Can't Catch Me" won the Signal Poetry Award in 1982. Both books went on to be bestsellers and both poet and artist are stellar names in the world of children's books. The book includes an introduction by Michael Rosen. Michael's brilliantly conversational poetry is fantastically matched by Quentin Blake's loopy yet perfectly detailed art. It is a partnership that Bloomsbury is proud to make available. Review - A brilliant colour illustrated poetry book which is packed full of amusing language! The book consists of various poems written by Michael Rosen, all of which are illustrated by the brilliant and talented Quentin Blake. I absolutely loved reading this book, as all of the poems are very well written and they bring back fond memories of my own childhood and getting to grips with poetry in primary school. I even came across one of my favourite poems in this book as well. The combination of Michael Rosen's poetry with Quentin Blake's illustrations results in a fantastic book, as the language is funny and engaging and the illustrations help to bring the poems to life. I think that this book would be a brilliant addition to any primary school classroom, as there are short simple poems for children in key stage 1 and more complex poems for children in key stage 2. This book can be used for subject support in English when pupils are learning about and writing their own poetry. The poems are meant to be read aloud and they would be great to act out and read aloud to a reception, year 1 or a year 2 class at the end of the school day. This book should be on every classroom shelf as it has a variety of uses (e.g. guided reading and subject support) and is very well written and the language used and the illustrations will help to hold the children's attention. Who is Michael Rosen? My first book for children was called Mind Your Own Business and it came out in 1974. Quentin Blake did wonderful line drawings for it. Since it is very short it can be easily by heart by small kids. The title of the poem is Judge me not. Judge me not by my face My colour or my hair Judge me not by appearance As that would not be fair I came to earth as I am No discussion of my look I had no pattern to study No choice from any book Judge me not by ability To read, write or understand Let it be by all my effort The use put to my hand The courage in bad times Endurance getting through Kindness to another So please, Judge me by what I do Please check my blog http://www.tastymalabarfoods.com/ for malabar food recipes. 'The Outing', by Michael Rosen, just one of the fantastic and hilarious poems from his short story and poetry collection The Hypnotiser. This particular poem was read to me as a young child in primary school time and time again. Each time the names in the poem were changed to the names of the pupils in my class. It never got old, or less hilarious and I wouldn't hesitate in reading this to my future classes during my teaching career. Action Songs for kids | The Singing Walrus

03:39
Our "Action Song for Kids" is a funky and bouncy dance tune that introduces the action verbs "clap", "stomp", "swing", "dance", "sing", jump", "touch", and "shake". In the video, our robot and the little chicks present a funky choreography on the dance floor, while Mother Hen and the band are singing their hearts out! This song can be used in the classroom or at home to encourage learning through music and body movement. The rhythm, musical arrangement, lyrics, and animation all work together to teach action verbs in the most effective way possible! Young learners of English will also love this video, as it is easy to sing along (lots of lines are short and repeated often) and the words are written and acted out on the screen. Question Mark | POEM | Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen From Jelly Boots, Smelly Boots A riotous celebration of words - silly words, funny words, words you only use in your own family, new words, old words, and the very best words in the right order. Melon Melon squashy, melon sloshy. My friend Helen's eating melon. So far, so good with Helen and her melon. But here's what I'm tellin' Helen: 'Don't SIT on your melon, Helen!' Packed with silly rhymes, witty wordplay and thought-provoking story poems, this new collection of poems will delight children of all ages. Michael Rosen is the bestselling author of We're Going on a Bear Hunt, along with many other picture books and collections of poetry. -- Review A brilliant collection of poems by Michael Rosen! Children of all ages will love. There are story poems, funny rhymes, and silly songs, something for everyone to enjoy. It could also be tied in to lesson planning and has cross-curricular links such as Art and Design, Music, and Geography. The art work linked to the poem 'Imagine', could lead to an investigation of the works by the surrealist movement or by modern day photographers like Carl Warner. The investigation of pulse and rhythm in poetry and the impact of pitch, dynamics, tempo, texture and structure in performance can be explored further using tuned and un-tuned percussion. What is Poetry? by Shmoop

To some, poetry is talking nonsense. It makes no sense and uses words only old guys in the 1800's used. To others, it is a different way of thinking. It stirs emotions, thoughts, memories. Whichever one you are, watch this video because it will give you the rundown on what poetry is all about. http://www.shmoop.com/poetry/

London Airport - Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen

London Airport Read by Michael Rosen from The Hypnotiser You can browse and buy Michael Rosen Books here: http://bit.ly/MichaelRosenBooks "I wrote a book of poems for children called 'The Hypnotiser' some years ago and then it went out of print.
Haunted House | Halloween songs for children | Little Blue Globe Band

"Haunted House" is the sequel to our hugely popular "Halloween Night", an animated Halloween video for the whole family. Haunted House features a chant-like song and a video in which three kids in costumes (superhero, butterfly fairy, and bee costumes) encounter various Halloween creatures and monsters as they walk through a haunted mansion. At the end of the video, the kids are invited to a Halloween dance party in main ballroom. There you'll see a vampire, skeletons, ghosts, zombies, a friendly monster and kids having fun dancing to the Halloween music. We hope you enjoy the video and perhaps get some Halloween costume / dress up ideas!
