Best Free Dead Sea Public Beaches in Israel
If you are looking for free Dead Sea Public Beaches in Israel you will have an easy job as there are at least a couple of them on the way down to Eilat. The closest to Jerusalem is past a military checkpoint, on the left side of the road. Park up your car and walk down to the water to enjoy the beach for free. If you want the comfort of a shower, then drive to Ein Bokek where all you need to pay for is the parking, otherwise the shower, the sand and sunbathing will all be free. These are the two free public beaches at the Dead Sea in Israel which I managed to discover during my holiday. If you know of more in Israel please post in the comments. The Dead Sea, Jordan | Adventure Travel, Tours & Holidays
For more information about our Jordan tours, visit On The Go Tours: http://www.onthegotours.com/Jordan The lowest point on the earth’s surface, the Dead Sea is a natural phenomena and gift of Mother Nature. Straddling the border between Israel and Jordan, the mineral content of this saltwater lake tops out at 33%, or about six times as salty as a normal ocean. Fed by the River Jordan, it’s called the Dead Sea as nothing resides in it. There are no fish, seaweed or plants of any kind in or around the water. What you’ll see on the shores are clusters of white salt crystals. No ordinary table salt, the salts found in the Dead Sea are mineral salts, just like you find in the oceans of the world, only in extreme concentrations. Bobbing about like a cork on the Dead Sea is one of those ‘must-do’ adventures in life! On The Go’s Jordan group tours, tailor made holidays and private journeys reveal the very best of this incredible country and can be made to suit all styles of travel. Jordan Holidays - Dead Sea Luxury Stay
http://www.petranightstours.com/ The Dead Sea plays a signficant role in the Bible, here it is named as Sea of Arabah, Salt Sea or Eastern Sea. At the plain along the Dead Sea, the Southern Ghor, several biblical events took place. The most popular is the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. God punished the sinful cities Sodom and Gomorrah, but allowed Lot and his family to flee the destruction. But Lot's wife disobeyed Gods order not to look back on the burning cities and turned into a pillar of salt. Today see close to the Dead Sea a rock formation called Lot's wife, and Lot's cave with remains from an early Byzantine church. Here Lot and his daughters took refuge after the deletion of Sodom and Gomorrah. Some scholars proppose the remains of Bab ed Dhra and Numeira in the south-eastern corner at the Dead Sea are the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah. http://www.petranightstours.com/

DEAD SEA, DEAD SEA IN ISRAEL, FLOATING IN THE DEAD SEA, PLACES TO VISIT IN ISRAEL - The Dead Sea (Hebrew: יָם הַמֶּלַח‎ About this sound Yam ha-Melah lit. Salt Sea, Arabic: البحر الميت‎‎ About this sound Al-Bahr al-Mayyit[5]), is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west. Its surface and shores are 430.5 metres (1,412 ft) below sea level,[4][6] Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 304 m (997 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With a salinity of 342 g/kg, or 34.2%, (in 2011), it is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean, and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water.[7] This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 50 kilometres (31 mi) long and 15 kilometres (9 mi) wide at its widest point.[1] It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. It was one of the world's first health resorts (for Herod the Great), and it has been the supplier of a wide variety of products, from asphalt for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetics and herbal sachets. The Dead Sea water has a density of 1.24 kg/litre, which makes swimming similar to floating.[8][9] The Dead Sea is receding at an alarming rate. Multiple canals and pipelines were proposed to reduce its recession, which had begun causing many problems. The Red Sea–Dead Sea Water Conveyance project, carried out by Jordan, will provide water to neighboring countries, while the brine will be carried to the Dead Sea to help stabilize its levels. The first phase of the project is scheduled to begin in 2018 and be completed in 202. In Hebrew, the Dead Sea is About this sound Yām ha-Melaḥ (help·info) (ים המלח‎), meaning "sea of salt" (Genesis 14:3). The Bible uses this term alongside two others: the Sea of the Arabah (Yām ha-‘Ărāvâ ים הערבה‎), and the Eastern Sea (Yām ha-Mizraḥî ים המזרחי‎). The designation "Dead Sea" never appears in the Bible. In prose sometimes the term Yām ha-Māvet (ים המוות‎, "sea of death") is used, due to the scarcity of aquatic life there.[11] In Arabic the Dead Sea is called About this sound al-Bahr al-Mayyit (help·info)[5] ("the Dead Sea"), or less commonly baḥrᵘ lūṭᵃ (بحر لوط, "the Sea of Lot"). Another historic name in Arabic was the "Sea of Zoʼar", after a nearby town in biblical times. The Greeks called it Lake Asphaltites (Attic Greek ἡ Θάλαττα ἀσφαλτῖτης, hē Thálatta asphaltĩtēs, "the Asphaltite[12] sea"). Geography Satellite photograph showing the location of the Dead Sea east of the Mediterranean Sea The Dead Sea is an endorheic lake located in the Jordan Rift Valley, a geographic feature formed by the Dead Sea Transform (DST). This left lateral-moving transform fault lies along the tectonic plate boundary between the African Plate and the Arabian Plate. It runs between the East Anatolian Fault zone in Turkey and the northern end of the Red Sea Rift offshore of the southern tip of Sinai. It is here that the Upper Jordan River/Sea of Galilee/Lower Jordan River water system comes to an end. The Jordan River is the only major water source flowing into the Dead Sea, although there are small perennial springs under and around the Dead Sea, forming pools and quicksand pits along the edges.[13] There are no outlet streams. Vacations in Jordan - Dead Sea Holidays
http://www.petranightstours.com The Dead Sea, the salt lake between Israel and Jordan, is the lowest point on earth with about 400 meters below sea level. It is an unique experience to bath without being able to sink, the water and the special conditions of the area have positive effects on dermatological and rheumatic diseases. The name Dead Sea refers to the fact, that no organic life can exist here due to the high salinity. The lake is 75 kms long and 6 to 16 kms wide, mainly supplied by water from the Jordan River, but has no outlet, so the waters evaporate, leaving behind a dense mix of salts and minerals. The warm, soothing, salty water itself - ten times saltier than sea water, is rich in chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium and bromine.

Beware of the "Dead Sea Treasures" kiosks at the malls this Holiday season!
You, yes, you, my friend, come here for a second, let me show you some amazing products made from Dead Sea minerals. Give me your hand, come on, it’s OK, just a second, just let me see your hand and I’ll show you what these moisturizers can do.” Young Israelis hawking skin care products, ostensibly made from minerals from the Dead Sea, have become a common sight in malls around the world. They grab customers passing by their kiosks and coerce them into buying overpriced cosmetics, many in an attempt to make money as quickly as possible to fund post-army travels. But the aggressive maneuvers utilized by the Israeli salespeople, coupled with the fact that many of them are working illegally, have roused the suspicions of the FBI, US Homeland Security, embassies around the world trying to combat labor fraud, and journalists who are uncovering questionable sales tactics. The issue came to a head in New Zealand earlier this summer, where a Dead Sea Spa kiosk in an Auckland mall was accused of swindling an elderly lady and forcing her to buy $5,000 worth of cosmetics. According to Campbell Live, the New Zealand Channel 3 TV program that first aired the story about the elderly woman, Dead Sea Spa had also charged an autistic man $4,400 for cosmetics in a half hour period, though $1,000 of the charges were not connected to products. On a separate occasion, a saleswoman sold $17,000 of products to a man with short-term memory loss who could not remember purchases he made just minutes earlier. Campbell Live reported that the Westfield mall chain decided on July 1 to evict Dead Sea Spa from kiosks in its malls across New Zealand. The reports exposed a dark underbelly of Israelis pursuing work around the world at mall kiosks and carts. In addition to aggressive and predatory sales tactics, the kiosks often skirt legal issues, evading local taxes and employing Israelis who do not have proper working permits. Up to 200 Israelis can work in New Zealand each year under the working holiday program, but it is unclear if the Dead Sea Spa workers featured in the Campbell Live reports were legally employed. The United States has had its eye on the issue since 2007. “In the past few years, sales of Dead Sea cosmetics and skincare products at kiosks in shopping malls across America has grown into a huge industry,” reported a 2009 cable uncovered by Wikileaks from the American Embassy in Tel Aviv to the American Embassy in Rome and the US secretary of state. “A lesser-known, but problematic, aspect of the Dead Sea industry is that its personnel is comprised of many young Israelis working on tourist visas, on expired temporary work visas and on training visas. Visa issues are likely to be just the tip of the Dead Sea industry’s tax and labor issues iceberg, which has attracted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Labor (DOL) investigators’ attention in a number of U.S. jurisdictions.” The leaked cable explains the process through which companies advertise online and in newspapers in Israel — promising exorbitant salaries in the range of $1,500-$3,000 per week — and coach participants how to lie in their tourist visa applications for the USA. “The fact that working and receiving a U.S. salary is illegal on B1/B2s [visas which prohibit working] really does not bother them,” the cable continued. “From their perspective, ‘not many Israelis are caught.'” Though Israelis can enter the European Union, Canada, or Australia without a visa interview, they are not allowed to work unless they get a special working holiday visa, which many Israelis do not because there are a limited number and application costs can be prohibitive. When the Israelis arrive at their destination, their employer crowds them into a house with other kiosk employees to cut down on rent. They are forced to work shifts of up to 12 hours, sometimes 7 days a week, and receive only commissions from what they sell. A Wikileaks cable from 2010 noted that few Israelis made decent money, since employers often failed to pay fair wages and there was no way to enforce that because the workers themselves were illegal. The cable noted in a few cases some Israelis actually end up in debt. “After adding in other expenses, they ended up having to pay their employer money when they left, earning nothing, contrary to what was promised,” the cable stated.

Click to Subscribe: http://bit.ly/1yP94X2 Check out our WEBSITE http://emunahchannel.com/life-israel/ Like our FACEBOOK: http://on.fb.me/1pVkbMg With God’s help, all of the Jewish people will be living in unity in Israel. But until all of our brothers and sisters make Aliyah or come to visit, we decided to recreate the Israel experience on camera, to give everyone a virtual tour of what it’s like living in the holy land on a normal day. Ride around with us on public transportation through the city, or take a bus with us to holy graves and historic sites. Follow us as we walk around the streets and alleys of ancient Jerusalem, interview tourists visiting for holidays, and talk to the locals about the history. There’s no doubt that Passover, Sukkot, Chanuka (Hanukkah) and Purim here are an experience that everyone should have, and we’re going to capture the atmosphere all on video, and have tourists explain what they most spiritually connect to here in Jerusalem. We’re going to be walking around the old city of Jerusalem, visiting Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Netanya, Be’er Sheba, Tazfat ( Safed) , Meron, Tveria (Tiberias), Ashdod, Eilat, and all the other favorite tourist locations. We’ll be taking hikes in the Golan, backpacking around the Negev, and swimming in the Dead Sea. Israel makes the Torah (Bible – Old Testament) feel so real and alive, and we’re going to capture a taste of what life here feels like for a normal citizen. All the Israeli news and TV channels like Arutz Sheva, Jerusalem Post, Haaretz, VICE news, CNN, BBC and The New York Times, only report the occasional extreme terrorism and terrorist attacks, boring international politics, Orthodox VS Secular conflicts, and IDF military operations. We’re making a reality news channel to show you what it’s like to live in Jerusalem, to go shopping in the Jerusalem market, and to taste all the local traditional foods at the restaurants and cafes. Falafel and shawarma anyone? Israel has some of the most talented street performers in the world, and we’ll show you the side of Israel Got Talent that is too good for the television series as we check out the street entertainers in the merkaz, watching Middle Eastern entertainment at its finest. And most importantly, for those experienced travelers who are more interested in old fashioned tourism, we’ll be going to all the historic sites and archaeological digs, like the Kotel (Western Wall, Wailing Wall) by the Temple Mount, The City of David, Ancient Synagogues all over Israel, Ancient Graveyards, the Mediterranean coast, and Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), as well as all the mystical Kabbalistic locations. And of course, the Emunah Channel team is going to be following Rav Dror Moshe Cassouto around before and after classes, talking to him about the soul and Hashem, as usual. Israel is the most scenic and exciting country in the world. It’s our homeland, the Jewish homeland, and is so full of vibrant life. Join us! Come Visit! Make Aliyah! Or just book a one-way flight ticket like I did! See you soon, the Emunah Project team can’t wait to interview you and hear your story!

Check out how we made Jordan here: https://viewfinder.expedia.com/video/jordan-video-behind-the-scenes/ https://www.expedia.com/Jordan.d90.Destination-Travel-Guides The ancient Greeks knew Jordan’s capital, Amman, as Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. Overlooking Amman is the Citadel, the city’s ancient core. Rising over the Citadel are the remaining pillars of the Temple of Hercules, a Roman temple that in its day dwarfed many in Ancient Rome. From Amman, journey north to Jerash, home to one of the largest concentrations of Roman ruins outside Italy. Then, continue north to Ajloun Castle, built to halt the Crusader armies as they rode down Jordan’s northern valley, hell-bent on Jerusalem. Enter the gravel plains of the Eastern Desert and follow the Desert Castle Loop. For many, the highlight here is Qasr al-Azraq, where Lawrence of Arabia made his winter headquarters. Travel south to Madaba, famed for the Madaba Map, one of the earliest depictions of the Holy Lands. Continue south along the Kings Highway, which once took Arabs to Mecca, and Israelites to the Promised Land. Follow the hairpin road 1300 feet below sea level to the Dead Sea. Float in the saline waters and cover yourself in the same mineral-rich muds Cleopatra once enjoyed. No visit to Jordan is complete without a visit to Petra. Emerge from the shadows of the Siq and gaze up at the Treasury, the greatest of all of Petra’s 500 tombs. Then continue south to explore the emptiness of Wadi Rum. From epic landscapes to monumental ruins, Jordan allows us to reach out and touch the eternal, and be at one with something far greater than ourselves.

SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/c/VicStefanu - Let's travel for about an hour away from Dakar, the capital city of Senegal in West Africa where there is an unusual lake that will surely catch the unsuspecting visitor’s eye because of its unusual yet vivid pink colour. Lake Retba (or Lac Rose as it is known by locals) is separated only by some narrow dunes from the Atlantic Ocean and, as expected its salt content is very high. Its salinity content compares to that of the Dead Sea and its distinct pink colour is caused by the Dunaliella salina bacteria which produce a red pigment in order to absorb the sunlight, thus giving the lake its unique colour. A Travel Guide to Jordan
A Travel Guide to Jordan Jordan is an extraordinary country. Although small in size and young in terms of nation state, it is blessed with some of the regions most revered historical treasures, some of its most spectacular scenery and some of its kindest and most hospitable people. It has a delicious cuisine, a good tourist infrastructure – with some great accommodation and knowledgeable guides – and under the much respected royal family, a stable government. Throughout its short history, Jordan has bucked the trends of its neighbours; by welcoming the foreign traveller with open arms, and gallons of sweet mint tea, in many ways it continues to do so. Amman is a lively, liberal city, modern in character, yet with one foot rooted firmly in the past. With a history dating back to Neolithic times, its journey travels through the Greeks and Romans – when it was known as Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love’ – before being abandoned for almost a thousand years only to rise again in 1921 as the country’s modern capital. Today it carries an air of dynamic self-assurance, and is an easy place to hang out for a day or two. Things not to be missed are the downtown area, the fruit and vegetable market, the Roman theatre, and the citadel with the capital’s most famous monument, the Temple of Hercules. From Amman the first thing you might like to do is take a day trip to visit the country’s most famous Roman town, Jaresh. Although Palaeolithic and Neolithic settlements can be found nearby, the town came to prominence during in the 1st century AD. Sites to check out here are the Temple of Zeus, the South Theatre and its impressive, and renovated, Hippodrome – which has seen a revival of the Roman sport of chariot racing. Travelling south you’ll pass Mount Nebo, the site from which Moses showed his people the Promised Land and take a look around Madaba, where, among other things, on the floor of St George’s church you can see the first map of the Holy Land in the form of a wonderful mural. But Jordan isn’t just about sites of antiquity, it also has some stunning natural wonders to experience. Just to the east of Madaba you can go for a float in the Dead Sea – and, if you so desire, cover yourself in the rejuvenating mud, or treat yourself to a spa or swim at one of the regions smart 5 star hotels – before enjoying remote, offbeat locations like the tiny village of Dana, which has recently been reinvented as an eco-village for travellers looking to explore the nearby reserve. While most people enter Petra from the town of Wadi Musa, through the famous Siq, or narrow gorge, emerging at the Treasury, there is another route in. Taking the rarely used back entrance not only offers a spectacular walk, through the regions beautifully rugged terrain, it also means you avoid the crowds and start your tour of the amazing Pink City at the impressive Monastery, and thus save the Treasury till last. And what a site Petra is – truly one of the wonders of the world. Covering some 250 square kilometres, the former capital of the Nabateans simply astounds. The beautiful pink rock, carved into magnificent facades showcasing the noble family’s temples and tombs, divided by mighty canyons and gorges, really does leave you speechless. At one time the city was home to some 30,000 inhabitants and the scale of the place is mind-blowing. And finally you come to the most impressive of all the Petra sites, the famous Treasury, which simply has to be one of the most magnificent monuments ever created. This is simply one of the most majestic desert landscapes you are ever likely to witness, a place where orange sands drift against towering red cliffs and immense vistas ride out under vast desert skies. This is a great place to stay for the night, either sleeping wild under the stars or in one of the impressive camps, the best of which is almost certainly Discover Circle, Bedu Camp. And as dramatic as it is, Wadi Rum has been used as a location in a numerous famous movies. And finally right in the south is the Red Sea town of Aqaba, which as well as being an important port and modern beach resort for locals, also has its place in history. With plenty of good walks to be had, horse riding holidays to experience, even great diving in the Red Sea, Jordan also has its fair share of activities to enjoy. At the Feynan Eco Resort it has an award winning ethical hotel, at Karak and Shobak it has Crusader castles and in the Azraq Wetlands it offers some amazing birdwatching.

Kalia Beach at the Dead Sea Israel: An unusual and fun experience!
Zahi Shaked A tour guide in Israel and his camera [email protected] 972-54-6905522 tel סיור עם מורה הדרך ומדריך הטיולים צחי שקד 0546905522 My name is Zahi Shaked In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide. My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land. Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity. In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters) Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
