Ilya Repin (1844-1930) A collection of paintings 4K Ultra HD

25:10
Ilya Yefimovich Repin (1844-1930) was a Russian realist painter. He was the most renowned Russian artist of the 19th century, when his position in the world of art was comparable to that of Leo Tolstoy in literature. He played a major role in bringing Russian art into the mainstream of European culture. In 1863 he went to St. Petersburg Art Academy to study painting but had to enter Ivan Kramskoi preparatory school first. In 1874–1876 he showed at the Salon in Paris and at the exhibitions of the Itinerants' Society in Saint Petersburg. He was awarded the title of academician in 1876. In 1901 he was awarded the Legion of Honour. In 1911 he traveled with his common-law wife Natalia Nordman to the World Exhibition in Italy, where his painting 17 October 1905 and his portraits were displayed in their own separate room. In 1916 Repin worked on his book of reminiscences, Far and Near, with the assistance of Korney Chukovsky. He welcomed the February Revolution of 1917, but was rather skeptical towards the October Revolution. Soviet authorities asked him a number of times to come back, he remained in Finland for the rest of his life. Celebrations were held in 1924 in Kuokkala to mark Repin's 80th birthday, followed by an exhibition of his works in Moscow. In 1925 a jubilee exhibition of his works was held in the Russian Museum in Leningrad. Repin persistently searched for new techniques and content to give his work more fullness and depth. Repin had a set of favorite subjects, and a limited circle of people whose portraits he painted. But he had a deep sense of purpose in his aesthetics, and had the great artistic gift to sense the spirit of the age and its reflection in the lives and characters of individuals. Repin's search for truth and for an ideal led him in various directions artistically, influenced by hidden aspects of social and spiritual experiences as well as national culture. Like most Russian realists of his times, Repin often based his works on dramatic conflicts, drawn from contemporary life or history. He also used mythological images with a strong sense of purpose; some of his religious paintings are among his greatest. His method was the reverse of the general approach of impressionism. He produced works slowly and carefully. They were the result of close and detailed study. With some of his paintings, he made one hundred or more preliminary sketches. He was never satisfied with his works, and often painted multiple versions, years apart. He also changed and adjusted his methods constantly in order to obtain more effective arrangement, grouping and coloristic power. Repin's style of portraiture was unique, but owed something to the influence of Eduard Manet and Diego Velázquez. Repin was the first Russian artist to achieve European fame using specifically Russian themes. His 1873 painting Barge Haulers on the Volga, radically different from previous Russian paintings, made him the leader of a new movement of critical realism in Russian art. He chose nature and character over academic formalism. The triumph of this work was widespread, and it was praised by contemporaries like Vladimir Stasov and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The paintings show his feeling of personal responsibility for the hard life of the common people and the destiny of Russia. In the 1880s he produced many of his most famous works, and joined the Itinerants' Society. Repin died in 1930 and was buried at the Penates. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilya_Repin Thank you, please subscribe for future videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0gMk3w9hw8BbtqoUpEMKeg?sub_confirmation=1

Russian artists capture spirit of revolution in radical new styles

06:51
(11 Dec 2017) LEADIN: An exhibition in Italy is bringing together artworks that capture the spirit of revolutionary Russia. The show marking the centenary of Russia's 1917 revolution celebrates an explosion of new styles seeking to depict the political and social upheaval of the times. STORYLINE: The winds of change are blowing. In this 1903 painting entitled What Freedom by Russian realist painter Ilya Repin, a couple feels the exhilaration of the vast expanse of wind and waves. It's part of an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Bologna (MAMBO) that tells the story of the Russian revolution through the eyes of the nation's artists in the early decades of the 20th century. As political and social unrest grew in Russia, a revolution was also underway in the art world. Repin supported social change and took part in protests against the repressive Tsarist regime, but his 19th century realist style was itself about to be blown away by an explosion of radically modern artworks. The 70 artworks on display here show how Russian painters were striving to capture the excitement and upheaval of the times in new artistic styles. "As the centenary of the revolution approached, and knowing that New York and London planned to put on great exhibitions marking the centenary of the Russian Revolution, I asked (the curator) Evgenia Petrovna if she had a partner in Italy. So our collaboration started, and here we are today, opening Revolutija: from Chagal to Malevich, from Repin to Kandinsky, a wide view of Russian art of the 20th century, which leads to the revolution and beyond, up to the beginning of the 1930s. An overview of art, history, literature and poetry," says exhibition promoter Giulia Fortunato. The tumult that Russia endured in 1917 sent shockwaves around the world as its last czar, Nicholas II, abdicated, and power was later seized by Vladimir Lenin's Bolsheviks. World War One revealed the enormous ineffectiveness of the czar's government and food shortages hit major cities in the winter of 1916-1917. A series of huge strikes and protests as well as mutinies in the armed forces broke out in St Petersburg in early March, leading to the abdication of the czar. The largest selection of paintings at the exhibition are those created by Kazimir Malevich, considered to be one of the most radical innovators of his time. On display alongside his artworks are a selection of replica costumes from the futurist opera Victory Over the Sun, which Malevich designed. The production premiered in 1913 to a very negative reception. The original costumes were destroyed in a fire. Malevich's most recognised work is his Black Square painting, which he first painted a version of in 1915. But he also painted a Red Square, which is subtitled Painterly Realism of a Peasant Woman in Two Dimensions. "I believe the most symbolic artwork of the avant-garde is Malevich's 'Red Square'. It has a second title: 'Peasant Woman in Two Dimensions'. This means that, according to Malevich, what previously had to be expressed in a figurative style, now could be expressed just by colour and shape. The emotions felt in front of the figurative, could now equally be felt in relation to a different (visual) language," says exhibition curator Evgenia Petrova, who is also vice-director of the Russian State Museum in St Petersburg. The exhibition sets Malevich's radical abstract art alongside the impressionist portraits of Valentin Serov, the 19th century realism of Repin, the modernism of Marc Chagall, and the very different abstract style of Wassily Kandinsky, all of whom were striving to capture the spirit of the times. The exhibition also features works by female artists, such as Zinaida Serebriakova and Natalia Goncarova. Ilya Yefimovich Repin - Russian (Ukraine) Realist

06:22
Ilya Efimovich Repin - Russian (Ukraine) Realist 1884-1930 Ilya Repin was a talented Russian painter of the Peredvizhniki School, who was held up by the Soviet government as an artist to be imitated by the new school of Socialist Realists. At the age of 22, Repin began his art career at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, the same time as the "Rebellion of the Fourteen," when 14 young artists left the school after refusing to paint mythological paintings for their diplomas. These artists would later form the Society of the Peredvizhniki, which Repin joined in 1878. Repin and the free thinking "itinerants," as they were also called, rebelled against the formal academy, insisting that art should reflect real life. As an art student, his travels took him to Italy, Paris and Impressionist Exhibitions, and although he was exposed to the vivid colors and quick brush strokes of the impressionist style, he remained true to his unique form of realism. Many of the subjects Repin painted were common people, like himself, although he did on many occasions paint the Russian elite, intelligentsia, and Tsar Nicholas II. He also painted many of his contemporary compatriots, including novelist Leo Tolstoy, composer Modest Mussorgsky, scientist Dmitri Mendeleev, and Ukranian painter Taras Schevchenko. A common recurring theme in his paintings was the Russian Revolutionary Movement, and as a result his works are often classified as a "Russian national style." In his later life, he lived in a house in Kuokkala, Finland, called the Penates, which he designed and built himself. After the October Revolution of 1917, Finland declared Independence, and Repin was invited to return to the Soviet Union. He refused, saying that he was too old to make the journey, and remained in Finland until his death thirteen years later. In 1940, the Penates house was opened to the public as a museum. wikipedia music credits - Russia's great violinist Leonid Borisovich Kogan © Images are copyright of their respective owners, assignees or others video used for non profit purposes

Edgar Degas: A collection of 658 paintings (HD)

55:12
Edgar Degas: A collection of 658 paintings (HD) Description: "A man of many talents, Edgar Degas was a famous French Impressionist painter who depicted the Parisian life in beautiful images. Edgar had a fascination for human figures and many of his paintings featured dancers in unusual positions. During his course at École des Beaux-Arts, which was a popular art school in France, he spent three years travelling in Italy where he studied and copied the arts of Da Vinci and Michelangelo. After he returned to Paris, he started making portraits; however his innovation with techniques did not go well with Salon, a group of powerful artists who presided over art exhibitions. In the next few years, Edgar was part of a group of avant-garde artists who dwelled on how painters could take a modern approach to art. With the outbreak of Franco-Prussian War, Edgar enrolled as a National Guard. But, he escaped much of the bloodbath that followed for the establishment of the Third Republic by travelling to New Orleans. After he returned to Paris, Edgar along with his fellow avant-garde artists formed the Society of Independent Artists, a group which aimed to exhibit their art without the control of Salon. This group came to be known as ‘Impressionists’ for their style of art, although Degas himself was more comfortable with the term ‘Realist’ or Independent’." Feel free to subscribe!

Elena Frolova sings M. Cvetayeva´s poem "Magdalena" (with paintings of Ilya Repin)

02:35
Elena Frolova, young composer, singer and performer of Russian author´s "bard" song, often composes music on the lyrics from Marina Cvetayeva´s poetry. These very powerful poems are very difficult to"translate" into "musical language" - and Frolova does it with enormous respect to Cvetajeva but on her own amazing style at the same time. Ilya Yefimovitch Repin (1844- 1930), well-known Russian painter popular mostly grace to his realistic scenes from Russian poor people´s life ("Burlaki na Volge) and awesome portraits of L.N. Tolstoy, Modest Musorgski and other Russian artists. Less known, but very powerful too, are his deep psychological portrait-studies which you can see in this video.

John Singer Sargent: A collection of 748 paintings (HD)

01:02:33
John Singer Sargent: A collection of 748 paintings (HD) Description: "At the turn of the century, John Singer Sargent was the portrait artist for rulers and the upper-class in both Europe and the United States of America. Sargent's best portraits reveal the individuality and personality of his sitters; his admirers think he is second only to Velázquez. Although primarily known for his portraiture, Sargent experimented with many artistic styles, especially while travelling, a passion he indulged with sketchbook in hand. However, he never embraced the modern styles that became in vogue towards the end of his career, and for this he was criticized. His personal life is not as colorful as some of the more well-known artists. Sargent was, quite simply, a private man who worked hard and was extremely good at what he did, with a uniformity of excellence that shocks even some of his critics." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Ambiment - The Ambient Ambiment - The Ambient by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100630 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters --- Thank you so much for your support!

Henri Lebasque: A collection of 629 paintings (HD)

59:42
Henri Lebasque: A collection of 629 paintings (HD) Description: "Henri Lebasque was born in Champigné, France in 1865. In 1885, he began studying in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and subsequently entered the studio of the artist Bonnat. He participated regularly in exhibitions of the artists' association and in the salons of Paris whilst maintaining an intense artistic exchange with young painters, especially Vuillard and Bonnard, the founders of the artists' associations "Les Nabis" (the prophets) and the "Intimists." Famed as a painter of 'joy and light', Lebasque is admired for the intimacy of his subject matter and his unique delight in colour and form. He was acclaimed for his individuality, his delicate sense of light and his personal charm. Such were the qualities that prompted Beaunier to write: 'Lebasque merits the renown of a lovely original artist, who knows his calling, uses it well, and never abuses it' (Gazette des Beaux Arts, May, 1908, p. 366) In 1903, together with his friend Matisse and other artists, Henri Lebasque founded the Salon d'Automne. In 1912, the Salon exhibited works by a group of artists, which, because of its distinct style, became popular as "Les Fauves" (wild beasts). Lebasque also changed his style in the same vein as "Les Fauves," taking on a similar flatness of form and colour, but maintaining a subtler style. Lebasque was introduced to the South of France by the artist Henri Manguin. This lead to a radical transformation in Lebasque's paintings, changing his colour palette forever. Other travels included the Vendée, Normandie and Brittany, although Lebasque would always prefer the small idyllic villages of the South of France. His work is represented in French museums, notably Angers, Geneva (Petit Palais), Lille (Musée des Beaux-Arts), Nantes and Paris (Musée d'Orsay) as well as many more around the world. Lebasque died at Cannet, Alpes Maritimes in 1937. Twenty years after his death, the Musée des Ponchettes in Nice presented the first retrospective of the works of Henri Lebasque." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] --- Thanks for all support!

#TretyakovEDU

Viktor Vasnetsov: A collection of 143 paintings (HD)

13:50
Viktor Vasnetsov: A collection of 143 paintings (HD) Description: "Best known as a painter of historical and mythological scenes, Viktor Vasnetsov was born 15 May 1848 in Lopiyal, in Viatka Province. Originally intending to follow his father and grandfather into the priesthood, Vasnetsov attended seminary at age ten. While studying in Ryabovo, he helped a local icon painter with his trade and aided exiled Polish artist Andriolli to make frescoes for the Aleksandr Nevsky Cathedral. Upon graduating, however, he decided to pursue his own course. He auctioned two of his own paintings to fund a move to St. Petersburg, where in 1867 he began to attend the Imperial Academy of the Arts. In 1870, Vasnetsov befriended Ivan Kramskoy and became a part of his association of Realist artists, the Peredvizhniki (“the Itinerants”). Despite Vasnetsov’s later fame for historical and mythological scenes, his works of the 1870s celebrated the common business of life. In 1876, at the recommendation of his friend and fellow “Itinerant,” Ilya Repin, Vasnetsov moved to Paris. There, he discovered his passion for painting the Russian mythology and folklore with which he had grown up, inaugurating a completely new style of Russian painting. His first subject was Ivan Tsarevich Riding a Gray Wolf, a scene from a traditional Russian fairy tale and painted in a suitably epic and fantastic fashion which he would not finish for over a decade. He did not entirely abandon his contemporary works, however; among several well-received genre Realist genre scenes, he also produced the large painting Fairground Booths in Paris during 1876 and 1877. In 1877, he returned to Moscow, riding high the tide of interest in Russian history and culture. Unfortunately, Vasnetsov’s works of this period were dismissed by contemporary art critics. He did not achieve popularity until the 1880s, when his religious art achieved notoriety. Of particular importance was his offer to paint frescoes in Kiev’s St. Vladimir’s Cathedral. Although challenging, the job let Vasnetsov create a grand tableaux, like the Old Masters. Vasnetsov worked on the cathedral for over ten years, creating over 400 studies and sketches during that time. In the end, he produced over 2000 square feet of frescoes detailing famous figures from Russia’s long history. The final product was somewhat controversial. Vladimir Stasov, a notable art critic, called it “sacrilegious,” while Dmitry Filosov deemed it a “bridge” between the different Russian social classes. It was during his time in Kiev that Vasnetsov began work on his most famous work, The Bogatyrs. Depicting Dobrynya Nikitich, Ilya Muromets and Alyosha Popovich, three of the most famous bogatyrs (literary knights-errant, similar to King Arthur and his knights in Western Europe), the painting skilfully blends Vasnetsov’s Realist abilities with the heroic fantasy of the myth. The hazy, whimsical landscape contrasts with the concrete men and their steeds to create a mood that perfectly fit the sensibilities of 19th century Russian audiences. Vasnetsov’s talents extended to more than just painting. He helped on stage and costume design for a number of Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov’s operas, including 1885’s The Snow Maiden and 1897’s Sadko. In the 20th century, he was even commissioned by the Soviet government to design new uniforms, creating a new style of cap called the bogatyrka, after the conical helms worn by the eponymous knights. He became particularly well-known later in life for applying his predilection for fantasy and fairy tales to building design, contributing to the general architectural movement known as Russian Revivalist. Vasnetsov designed a church, his own estate (which was turned into a museum dedicated to his art in 1953), and the façade of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. Vasnetsov was also involved in the arts behind the scenes. He was curator of the Tretyakov Gallery, ensuring after the Russian Revolution that religious paintings, particularly those by Aleksandr Ivanov, found their way from churches to the safety of the gallery. He personally provided for a great number of the works found in the State Historical Museum. Vasnetsov was an artistic polymath, adept at landscape, portraiture, illustration, and architecture. He helped create a tone that would shape the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as leaving a rich legacy of uniquely Russian art. He died 23 July 1926, an enduring treasure for Russia and the world of art." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] --- Thanks for all support!

Katsushika Hokusai: A collection of 1145 works (HD)

01:55:02
Katsushika Hokusai: A collection of 1145 works (HD) Description: "Born to an artisan family, Hokusai was apprenticed to a woodblock engraver at a young age. By the time he was 19, the leading ukiyoe master, Katsukawa Shunshō, had taken him on as a pupil and Hokusai was more-or-less formally introduced to artistic society at age 20. Once he began receiving paying commissions there was no turning back, and he'd parted ways with the Katsukawa school by 1795. Until he died, however, he never ceased learning all he could about art from ukiyoe (and other) masters. Early on in this quest for knowledge, Hokusai was exposed to Western art and quickly picked up (traditionally non-Japanese) artistic techniques such as one-point perspective. It's hard to describe the tremendous impact this chance encounter had on Art History from there on out. It led Hokusai to an entirely new style of ukiyoe that continues to echo in Japanese art to this day. And, unbeknownst to Hokusai, his new style would travel back to Western art and directly influence its future. Over the course of his long life, Hokusai continued to operate with a restless, incessant thirst for creation. Though he was frequently (and rather proudly) broke, he never turned down a job, whether it was for a distinguished publisher or a brothel. He changed his residence over 90 times, marketed himself with pure genius, enjoyed fame in his own lifetime and painted until he died at a ripe old age. Conservative estimates mark his total output at an astounding 30,000 pieces. These days, many people - readers and employed artists, alike - owe him a debt of gratitude for originating manga as an art form. We also often tend to think of him as a (if not the) "classic" Japanese artist - a tendency that needs to be re-examined. In his time, Hokusai's art was radically different and very un-Japanese. It's just one of those weird twists of fate that the French Impressionists (and beyond) mistakenly believed Hokusai's original style represented all of Japanese art." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Eastminster Eastminster by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100719 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters --- Thank you so much for your support!

Zinaida Serebryakova (1884-1967) Russian Realist painter

36:33
Zinaida Yevgenyevna Serebriakova (née Lanceray) was a Ukranian/Russian painter active in the early 20th century. Born near what is now Kharkiv, Ukraine into a well-to-do family, she studied at an art school under the direction of Ilya Repin, and went on to study with noted portraitist Osip Braz. She also traveled to Italy and Paris, studying at museums where possible. Her work over time carried elements of Realism, Impressionism, Art Nouveau and Expressionism. Her subjects included landscape, still life and figures, but her primary interest was portraiture. In addition to portraits both formal and informal, she frequently painted and drew her children and created several self-portraits, the most famous of which (image above, top) helped establish her career. She also found dancers of particular interest, featuring them in many compositions, as well as her own daughter in dancers garb from her classes (above, bottom). Serebriakova worked in oil, water media and pastel. Some of her pastels of dancers have a Degas-like character. After a tragic period following her husband’s sudden death, the rise of the Soviet Union and the closing of its borders left her in France, unable to return, and separated her from her two eldest children for a number of years. She eventually took French citizenship, residing in Paris for the remainder of her life. She traveled extensively and a number of her works are from her travels in Morocco and North Africa. 1884-1967, was the first female Russian painter of distinction, as a master of portrait, genre scenes from the life of peasantry. She was born near Kharkov into one of Russia's most refined and artistic families. In 1900 she entered the art school founded by Princess M. K. Tenisheva. She studied under Repin in 1901, and Braz between 1903-1905. Between 1902-1903 she spent time in Italy, and from 1905-1906 she studied in Paris. At the outbreak of the October Revolution in 1917 Serebriakova's life suddenly changed. In 1919 her husband Boris died of typhus contracted in Bolshevik jails. She was left without any income, responsible for her four children and her sick mother. She did not want to switch to the futurist style popular in the art of the early Soviet period, nor paint portraits of commissars, but she found some work at the Kharkov Archaeological Museum.

Russian Artist Vladimir Volegov

23:00
A selection of artworks bu Russian Artist Vladimir Volegov. Vladimir was born in the city of Khabarovsk, on December 19, 1957. When he was two years old, his mother abandoned his father, took her son and moved to Sverdlovsk (formerly, Yekaterinburg). From then on, the family had often relocated from one place to another. The mother wanted Vladimir to become a doctor, but he had a strongly pronounced desire to paint. He was remarkably diligent and observant. While at school, his teachers often asked him to help create visual aids, and he earned his first money for drawing the slogan Long Live the First of May! when he was 13. At the age of 14, he started to paint 3 m cinema posters, which later often added something special to the youth parties. In the city of Krivoi Rog, Vladimir entered an arts school, and during his time there, he discovered the art of many classical painters. The works by Ilya Repin and Valentin Serov had a particular effect on him. In 1980, he entered the School of Graphics at Lvov Institute of Printing Art. At the entrance exam, he painted an illustration to the novel The Young Guard. The Admission Committee, having seen Vladimir’s work, unanimously made a decision about his admission, even though his Literature and the History of CPSU exam results were far from brilliant. In 1982, in Krivoi Rog, Vladimir became the head of SPLAV artistic association. In 1986, he often visited Moscow, participated in international poster exhibitions, and in one of such contests, he won the first prize. In those very days, he visited the exhibition of Andreas Zorn’s works, which had a significant influence on him. In 1988, he moved to Moscow in order to achieve his artistic potential. He started with painting portraits in Arbat, while at the same time he was looking for work. That was when his first contacts with publishing houses, advertising and record companies were established. They willingly employed him. With the emergence and development of digital technologies, Vladimir learned computer painting. He painted posters, covers for vinyl and CD albums, worked with advertising agencies for periodicals and street posters advertising. Throughout all that time, he never ceased to paint. The confused and hectic years of 1990 – 2000 were full of commercial orders, comic books, making sketches for promotional items. In order to survive, Vladimir accepted all the offers that came along. In 1990, Vladimir started travelling to Europe, earning his living by painting portraits in the streets of Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna and other European cities. For 10 years, he participated in the Summer Portrait project in the Austrian town of Wels. Having seen his works on the vinyl and CD album covers he made for show business projects, Russian show business celebrities started making orders for painted portraits. In 1992, during his summer work as a contracted painter in the park of Gardaland (Italy), in one of the local markets, he purchased a book with Giovanni Boldini’s pictorial reproductions, which impressed, amazed and inspired Vladimir. When he saw the impressionists’ originals in the Musée d'Orsay, he started to spend more time on painting and never stopped working. At the beginning of 2000, Vladimir created a web page with his commercial and artistic works. It was through that page, that his art manager found him, and in 2004, Vladimir signed a long-term contract with Soho Editions, NY, USA. Vladimir discovered the names of John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, adopted the style of romantic realism and started to paint in that manner. After seven years of marriage, in 2006, Vladimir and his wife, Ekaterina, moved to Spain. And in that same year, their son Anton was born. In 2007, he started his successful cooperation with Galeries Bartoux in France as well as with art galleries in the USA, Italy and Sweden. In 2011, while Vladimir was working on a 3D project, an idea of creating 3D dolls dawned on him. He set up the www.volegovdolls.com web page and took part in the exhibitions in Paris (Doll Expo 2012), in Barcelona (Doll Show 2012), in New York (Art Expo New York 2012), in which both his paintings and dolls were a tremendous success. Vladimir worked on the inflow of private orders for portraits while simultaneously pursuing his artistic endeavours, the main theme of which was depicting women and children. Besides, Vladimir created videos dedicated to the process of painting creation, and has composed music to them. Since 2015, Vladimir has started to conduct video tutorials in figurative oil painting and, after his followers’ persistent requests, he has created a tutorial DVD. •

Filipp Malyavin Paintings & Drawings!

09:28
Filipp Andreevich Malyavin (Russian: Филипп Андреевич Малявин) (October 22, 1869, Kazanki (Julian calendar: October 10) – December 23, 1940, Nice, France) was a Russian painter and draftsman. Trained in icon-painting as well as having studied under the Great Russian realist painter Ilya Repin, Malyavin is unusual among the Russian artists of the time for having a peasant background. It is possibly due to this that his paintings often depict peasant life, and his most famous work, Whirlwind, shows peasant women dancing. Filipp Andrejevitj Maljavin (ryska: Филипп Андреевич Малявин), född 22 oktober (gamla stilen: 10 oktober) 1869 i Kazanka, guvernementet Samara (numera i Orenburg oblast), död 23 december 1940 i Nice, var en rysk målare. Filipp Andrejevitsj Maljavin (Russisch: Филипп Андреевич Малявин) (Kasanka, Oblast Orenburg, 22 oktober 1869 – Nice, 23 december 1940) was een Russisch kunstschilder. Maljavin was een diep-religieus man. Transliteration Filipp Andreevič Maljavin; * 10.jul./ 22. Oktober 1869greg. in der Siedlung Kasanka, Gouvernement Samara; † 23. Dezember 1940 in Nizza) war ein russischer Maler. Філіп Андрійович Малявін (рос. Филипп Андреевич Малявин, 22 жовтня 1869 — 23 грудня 1940) — талановитий художник, представник російської гілки імпрессіонізму, росіянин за походженням. Емігрував у Францію, помер в місті Ніцца.

Anthony van Dyck: A collection of 449 paintings (HD)

42:46
Anthony van Dyck: A collection of 449 paintings (HD) Description: "Southern-Netherlandish painter, a major Baroque artist. Van Dyck was the son of a wealthy merchant from Antwerp. At the age of ten he already studied with a master painter, Hendrik van Balen. In 1615 he opened a workshop together with Jan Brueghel the Younger. His talent was recognized by his main example, his fellow Antwerp painter Peter Paul Rubens. Rubens employed Van Dyck in 1617. The oldest known and remaining work from his early period is a bearing of the cross from 1617. In 1620 he made his first journey to England, where he stayed at the court of king James I. The next year he travelled to Italy, where he spent most of his time in Genua. His main example in Italy would be Titian. Van Dyck also developed his skill in the painting of portraits, a genre that was to become his favourite. In Italy his style lost some of its strong melancholy and gained in sensitivity, with the use of warm southern colours. Back in Antwerp (1627) he enjoyed great fame and produced a series of masterpieces. One of those is a portrait of the archduchess Isabella, the governour of Flanders, who had appointed Van Dyck as court painter. He also painted several large altarpieces. In 1632 Van Dyck moved to England, where the passionate art collector king Charles I also made him a court painter. King Charles earlier had persuaded Rubens to stay at his court. Van Dyck was granted a pension, became very popular, married the daughter of a lord and had a mistress. He also often travelled abroad. During a visit to Paris he fell seriously ill. Back in London he died in 1641. Van Dyck was buried in St. Paul's Cathedral." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] --- Thanks for all support!

Eracilon - Meditation __________________________________ Konstantin Korovin was born on December 5, 1861 in Moscow. He was the second son in the family of a merchant. He studied painting with his brother Sergei at the Moscow School of Painting, where his teachers were Vasili Perov and Alexei Savrasov. In 1881-82 he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Later he returned to Moscow and became a student of Vasili Polenov. Korovin went to Paris in 1885, and there he was stunned by the works of impressionists. At that time he entered the artists circle in Abramtsevo, Russia, and worked for Savva Mamontov's Opera. He designed stage sets for "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi, and "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. With Mamontov he traveled to France, Italy and Spain, where he continued painting in the style of impressionism. In 1890s he joined the "Mir Iskusstva" (World of Art) group, where he met Sergei Diaghilev, Valentin Serov, Alexandre Benois, Ilya Repin and other important cultural figures of that time. Korovin was designated head artistic designer of the Russian pavilions at the Paris World Fair in 1900. He received the Gold Medal at the World Fair and was awarded the Legion of Honour by the government of France. He traveled and painted in Europe, mostly in Paris until WWI. During the war he worked as a camouflage designer for the Russian Army. He continued work as theatrical designer for the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. He created the stage design for "Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, "Die Walkure" by Richard Wagner. Korovin finally left Russia for Paris in 1923. His valuable art collection was stolen, and he had to work as theater designer in Europe, America and Australia. His collaboration with Sergei Diaghilev and other theatrical productions continued. Among his many works is the remarcable innovative stage set for "The Golden Cockerel" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov at the Turin Opera. His portraits of actors Feodor Chaliapin Sr. and T. Lubatovich and of the art collector Ivan Morosov are among the best in the genre. Korovin was a colorist with a rare gift for harmonization. His works represent a merger of the classic art tradition with impressionism and art-nouveau. He died in Paris on September 11, 1939, and was laid to rest at the Russian cemetery in Paris.
