Who made my clothes? - 24.04.2019 Fashion Revolution Day
Heute möchte ich wissen, wer eines meiner Lieblingshemden hergestellt hat: "G-Star, who made my Shirt?" Das Video hat Johann mit iMovie erstellt, die Musik mit GarageBand.
Sustain Debate Video released for Fashion Revolution Day
April 24th …. its the date that should be penciled into the schedule of any forward thinking fashion follower. Fashion Revolution Day is a global coalition of designers, academics, writers, business leaders and parliamentarians calling for systemic reform of the fashion supply chain. To celebrate Brighton Fashion Week have released this three minute video of the Sustain Debate that took place at Brighton Fashion Week 2014. The Sustain Debate consisted of a panel including Caroline Lucas MP, Carry Somers and other renowned change makers whom gathered to debate the ethics and sustainability of the fashion industry and its practices. The event was conceived in the wake of the collapse of Rana Plaza, Bangladesh in 2013, and in support of the Fashion Revolution campaign started by Carry Somers and Orsola de Castro, which brings to the forefront the broken links in the fashion supply chain and highlights the disconnect that we as clothing consumers have from the eye-opening journey that our garments make to get on to our shelves. Brighton has always identified with a strong ethos, where a One Planet Living attitude inspires a constant exploration of ways to celebrate a high quality of life within a fair share of the Earth’s resources. The Sustain Debate was sponsored by Brighton and Hove Fair Trade Steering Group and The Fair Shop. Run by http://longruncommunications.com Videographer: Agne Kovalkova Interviewer: Giulia Carri

Fashion Revolution Day
Fashion at a bargain – why not? But what if consumers see the conditions, under which the super cheap clothes are made? A campaign by BBDO Berlin for the Fashion Revolution Day on April 24. The vending machine standing dead in the middle of Alexanderplatz in Berlin is a bright popping turquoise. And it is promising you a real bargain, too: „T-Shirt only 2 Euros.“ But there is no t-shirt dropping right out of it, as soon as the coin disappears inside the machine. Instead a video showing shocking scenes from textile factories, where women and children sew without a break, is played on the display. They are paid only 13 cents per hour in addition to working under life threatening conditions. After 20 seconds an option appears on the display: „Buy or Donate“ – Do you really want to buy the t-shirt? Or would you rather donate the 2 Euros? The customers are taken aback: „I did not know, under which conditions fashion is produced. I am really shocked.“ „It is not fair for the factory workers to be paid only 13 cents per hour. It is impossible to live on that.“ „Well, now I will be more cautious of where my clothes are produced.“ The reactions at the vending machine were rather unambiguous: About 90 percent of the 150 people, who initially wanted to buy cheap t-shirts at the machine, have decided against a purchase. A video, about the joint campaign by BBDO Berlin and Fashion Revolution documented the unexpected intervention and the reactions to it. In addition, the clip educates consumers on the shocking facts of textile production for bargain prices. „We didn’t just want to ask, whether production conditions could in theory influence a purchase, we wanted to find out, how the people would react, if they saw this kind of garment production with their own eyes“, sais Jan Harbeck, Creative Managing Director at BBDO Berlin. The agency carried out the campaign together with Fashion Revolution in preparation of the Fashion Revolution Day on April 24. „To me, the results show, just how important transparency is in the global supply chain.“, says Annett Borg, Country Coordinator at Fashion Revolution Germany. „Through the Fashion Revolution Day and campaigns like this one, people all over the world can show, that they do care about the inhuman working conditions in the textile industry.“ The Fashion Revolution Day On April 24, 2015 the worldwide Fashion Revolution Day will take place for the second time - in memory of the over 1.100 casualties of the collapse of the textile factory Rana Plaza in Bangladesh. People from over 69 countries take part in events, flashmobs, workshops and a selfie-campaign involving clothing worn inside out. They post the pictures to social networks with the slogans #FashRev and #whomademyclothes. The Fashion Revolution Day is a global initiative, that seeks the public dialogue, to discuss new solutions and evoke a change in the textile industry. One in six people world wide works in the supply chain of the global fashion industry. Fashion Revolution Day Celebrated in 58 Countries on 4.24.14
Today, consumers around the world are turning fashion into a force for good with the first annual Fashion Revolution Day, a worldwide movement in over 50 countries demanding fair treatment for all garment workers and clothing that is made ethically and humanely. Fashion Revolution Day aims to honor the lives of the 1133 sweatshop laborers killed and over 2500 injured in the Rana Plaza factory building collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh last April 24, 2013 due to unsafe working conditions, and to create transparency and justice in the global fashion supply chain. Consumers who shop at large retailers like Walmart, The Gap and Forever 21 increase demand for cheap, disposable clothing. As a result, manufacturers look to countries like Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Cambodia where wages and workplace standards for textile and garment production are unreasonably low. The race to the bottom of a competitive global marketplace leads to inhumane safety standards and growing exploitation of millions of garment workers, like 20 year old Rana Plaza survivor Aklima Khanam, who has worked in clothing factories since age 14 to support her family. Aklima's average work shift runs from 8am to midnight, seven days a week with no days off. On the day of the collapse, her managers were aware of a crack in the building but threatened to dock one month's wages if she refused to go to work. When the walls caved in shortly after beginning work on the morning of April 24th, Aklima was trapped under her sewing machine for 15 hours before being rescued. Before the accident, she made $125 per month. With injuries to her head, back and legs, she can no longer work but has received little to no compensation from her employers. Rana Plaza is but one example of the many atrocities occurring daily in the name of fashion. Fashion Revolution says enough is enough. With a call to action to wear an item of clothing #insideout on April 24th, 2014 and share a picture via social media in honor of those injured at Rana Plaza, Fashion Revolution Day asks the question "Who Made Your Clothes?" With this simple gesture, thousands of consumers around the world will be empowered to be curious about where their clothes come from and take action on behalf of the human hands that manufacture them. The campaign is supported by designers, pioneering thought leaders, media across the globe and many celebrities. Fashion Revolution Day ambassador Amber Valletta - supermodel, actress and founder of online ethical fashion retailer Master & Muse, is inspired to wear her clothes #insideout on April 24th, Fashion Revolution Day: "We all need to pay attention to how and where our clothes are made because we share a common thread: humanity." Valletta turns her clothes #insideout on a Fashion Revolution Day PSA produced by Fashion Revolution USA board member and ethical fashion pioneer Marci Zaroff. Zaroff also collaborated with famed t-shirt designer Michael Stars to create a limited edition Michael Stars x Under the Canopy "Who Made Your Clothes?" #insideout t-shirt made from 100% organic cotton, now available on Shopethica and Modavanti with proceeds benefiting the Rana Plaza Donors Trust Fund. Join the global Fashion Revolution movement! Post a photo of yourself wearing an outfit #insideout on the Fashion Revolution Day USA facebook fan page by 11:59pm PST on April 24th, 2014 and you could win an ethical designer wardrobe worth over $3,000 courtesy of our brand partners including 2ETN, Bhoomki, Deborah Lindquist, Dhana Eco Kids, GUNAS, Loomstate, Mata Traders, Mink Shoes, Nomadista, Org by Vio, Pashen, Seamly.co, Simply Natural Clothing, Stewart + Brown, Tabii Just, Under the Canopy and Vaute. About Fashion Revolution. Fashion Revolution was founded in the UK by ethical fashion pioneer, Cary Somers. On April 24th, Fashion Revolution Day events will be held in cities across the world and in the US, including panel discussions, an Earth Day festival, a shopping night out in New York City, and a shorts film festival and community fair in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Women's AM Fashion Revolution Day Part 2
Fashion can inspire, transform and provoke different types of reactions. Today on April 24th 2014, designers, fashion icons, academics and campaigners have come together to mark this date as Fashion Revolution Day. Last year, on this day, over 1000 people were killed when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh whilst many were injured working in unsafe conditions. And there are many more examples where ordinary people have become 'victims' of the fashion supply chain. We'll be looking at the legacy of the incident and what Fashion Revolution Day aims to do.

On April 24th, 2013 the world of fashion stood still for a couple of seconds. In Dhaka, Bangladesh a poorly built textile factory collapsed and became a symbol of the industry’s inequality. More than 1135 workers were killed to feed the global appetite for cheap clothing. It’s time to put an end to Fast Fashion. Now. Let’s revolutionize the textile industry and show the big players that it can be done better: No wage slavery, no chemical madness, no cheap mass production. To raise awareness for the true cost of fashion and the inhumane conditions in textile factories, Fashion Revolution Day was initiated and takes place every year on April 24th. Fashion Revolution Day Video for April 24th 2014
On the year anniversary of the factory collapse in Bangladesh Fashion Revolution Day is taking place to ask people to question who made their clothes. To imagine the thread from the garment, to the machinists who sewed it, all the way down to the farmer who grew the cotton. By targeting specific brands we will initiate a process of discovery, raising awareness of the invisible workforce behind the clothes we wear. All over the globe people will be wearing their clothes inside out to ask- Who made our clothes? Create your own video today!

I made your shoes - Fashion Revolution Day | Wildling Shoes
(ENGLISH BELOW) Heute ist es soweit: Es ist der Fashion Revolution Day. #imadeyourshoes #whomademyshoes #FOXUPCLOSE ------------ Today is the day, the 24th of April is known worldwide as the Fashion Revolution Day. This is the day that we want to put a face to the fashion we use and stand up to anonymous Fast Fashion. It also marks the sad anniversary of the catastrophic collapse of the Rana Plaza factory building in Bangladesh which buried numerous fashionworkers under its rubble. Who were these people? And who are the people today, that produce our fashion? Whether it is Longshirts, pants, dresses or yes, also shoes...who made them? Whose time, labour, skills, passion and love for detail went make up the worth of our clothes and shoes? Who are these people? So the fox made its way to Portugal, because this is where Wildling Shoes produces their wild pack. There, Pheasants, Doves, Weasel and Dormouse begin their journey and make their way up to Germany (and from here onwards into the whole world). Here, the fox searched for answers to the question #whomademyshoes. Whose hands do the shoes pass, that accompany us later on our every step? Who prepares the ultrathin soles? Who handles the machines? Who cuts the materials to size? Who seams and glues it? His collected impressions can be seen here. #imadeyourclothes #whomademyclothes
