Special Note: We just released the Canada Saver Card, a physical discount card that gets you discounts at a variety of attractions, adventures, and activities across Canada! From helicopter tours to rafting, fishing, museums, and horseback rides, save money on all of them for less than $30! - https://www.mustdocanada.com/saver-cardQuébec was the fifth province we visited on our 150-day road trip across Canada. Learn more at www.MustDoCanada.com/Road-to-150 Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature. With historical cities like Old Québec, diverse cities like Montreal, and natural attractions like Mont Tremblant and the St. Lawrence Saguenay Seaway, Québec is an exciting province to explore. Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special? We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world. €135,270 for rural recreation projects will boost tourism in Limerick

00:38
Minister of State for Finance & Public Expenditure and Reform and Limerick TD, Patrick O’Donovan, has welcomed the allocation of €135,270 for rural recreation projects in Limerick. “Limerick has been allocated €135,270 for rural recreation projects, which is extremely welcome and will help to boost tourism here in Limerick and in the surrounding region. “This funding is part of €11 million in funding for over 200 projects nationally under the 2017 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, announced by my colleague Michael Ring, T.D Minister for Rural and Community Development. “The Scheme is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and is designed to maintain and improve our outdoor recreational infrastructure including for example our green-ways, blueways and walking trails. “Limerick projects receiving grants include · River Walk at Templeathea, Athea · Mullaghareirk/Broadford Ashford walking trails · Attycran Loop, Kilbehenny · Promotion of trail infrastructure in the Ballyhoura region · Shannon Estuary drive, Ballysteen Pier · Clare Glens Loop Walk, Murroe · Darby's Bed Loop Walk, Galbally · Doon Convent Farm Walk · Glin Heritage Walking Trails · Kilfinane - Slievereagh Loop · Knockfierna Famine Memorial Walks · Manor Fields, Adare · Moor Abbey Loop, Galbally · Castleconnell Walk · The marketing and publicity of outdoor recreation amenities, facilities and activities across Limerick, through West Limerick Resourese and Ballyhourna Development “Recreational tourism is growing year on year and so it is crucial we continue to improve facilities and encourage more visitors. Figures from Fáilte Ireland show that the hiking and cycling tourism markets are worth approximately €1.2 billion to the Irish economy. “Aside from the obvious tourism benefits, it’s also hugely important that we maintain and develop our outdoor infrastructure to encourage everyone to keep fit and live a healthy active lifestyle. “Eighty per cent of each project is funded by the Government grant, with Limerick City and County Council making up the difference. “Minister Ring has confirmed to me that he expects to make further announcements under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme in the autumn.”

What does SUSTAINABLE TOURISM mean? SUSTAINABLE TOURISM meaning - SUSTAINABLE TOURISM definition - SUSTAINABLE TOURISM explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Sustainable tourism is the concept of visiting a place as a tourist and trying to make only a positive impact on the environment, society and economy. Tourism can involve primary transportation to the general location, local transportation, accommodations, entertainment, recreation, nourishment and shopping. It can be related to travel for leisure, business and what is called VFR (visiting friends and relatives). There is now broad consensus that tourism development should be sustainable; however, the question of how to achieve this remains an object of debate. Without travel there is no tourism, so the concept of sustainable tourism is tightly linked to a concept of sustainable mobility. Two relevant considerations are tourism's reliance on fossil fuels and tourism's effect on climate change. 72 percent of tourism's CO2 emissions come from transportation, 24 percent from accommodations, and 4 percent from local activities. Aviation accounts for 55% of those transportation CO2 emissions (or 40% of tourism's total). However, when considering the impact of all greenhouse gas emissions from tourism and that aviation emissions are made at high altitude where their effect on climate is amplified, aviation alone accounts for 75% of tourism's climate impact. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) considers an annual increase in aviation fuel efficiency of 2 percent per year through 2050 to be realistic. However, both Airbus and Boeing expect the passenger-kilometers of air transport to increase by about 5 percent yearly through at least 2020, overwhelming any efficiency gains. By 2050, with other economic sectors having greatly reduced their CO2 emissions, tourism is likely to be generating 40 percent of global carbon emissions. The main cause is an increase in the average distance travelled by tourists, which for many years has been increasing at a faster rate than the number of trips taken. "Sustainable transportation is now established as the critical issue confronting a global tourism industry that is palpably unsustainable, and aviation lies at the heart of this issue (Gossling et al., 2010)."

A Journey through Rural Lesotho | Travel Documentary

12:00
Lesotho Kingdom in the Sky. On this episode of Adventure Calls we travel through Rural Lesotho in a rented 4WD Nissan which had been outfitted for true adventure. We would go horse trekking deep in the Lesotho mountains, visit one of the world tallest waterfalls and drive through the roughest terrains imaginable towards South Africa. We also got an opportunity to donate school materials which was donated by fans, friends and family. You can learn more about the Malealea Development Trust here where you can also donate to those in need https://malealeadevelopmenttrust.org/ Lesotho was our very first travel documentary that we filmed. Lesotho is a fantastic place to visit and a place we highly recommend. If you stay longer and plan to drive around the more rural areas you should highly consider bringing or renting a good 4WD car (the cheapest and easiest option is in Johannesburg, South Africa). Many places are inaccessible without. We hope you will enjoy this video and please subscribe to our channel for more adventures around the world. Please leave any comments and questions below. TRAVEL STORY | AGROTOURISM AT CAMERON HIGHLANDS

12:37
The history of agritourism or known as agrotourism was created in 1800s, when families visited farming relatives to escape from the city and experience the farming. Visiting another country became more popular with the widespread use of the automobile in 1920s. The use of cars and vehicles makes them easier to move and to explore other places that require them to do some journey (United States Department of Agriculture). Agrotourism incorporates a wide variety of activities, such as milking cows, feeding the farm animals, tending the bees, picking fruits and many other recreational and outdoor activities. Agrotourism can have significant benefits for farmers, communities and visitors. One of the benefits of agritourism is to educate the visitors and public about agriculture. Other benefits are to preserve farms and farmland, share agricultural heritage and rural life-styles with visitors and preserve rural heritage and traditions (Tourism Extension, Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management). With the rising popularity of agrotourism, Malaysia develops a few destinations for tourists to spend their holidays and engage with various agro activities. We chose to visit Cameron Highlands as it is known as one of the agrotourism destinations in Malaysia. Group members : Suzamira Abdul Ghani Nur Aireen Qamarina Abdul Rahim Nurul Ain Fatin Md. AMAZING MOUNTAIN VILLAGE IN THE PHILIPPINES FULL OF LOVE...

20:23
This has to be one of the most amazing little mountains villages I have ever been to in the Philippines! The Filipinos here were so friendly, and just full of so much love! In this video you will see all of us "FIghter Boys" heading off on motor bikes to a rural Barangay in Arakan, North Cotabato. There were just a few houses in this place, but they were sitting in one of the most amazing mountain side views I have ever seen... This place was beautiful! The people, the environment, the adventure... Everything was amazing and beautiful! Oh, and just wait until you see the AMAZING WATERFALL that was hidden away in the mountains! Homelessness: sleeping rough in the countryside

06:49
The number of homeless people in the UK who’ve died while sleeping out on the streets or in temporary accommodation has more than doubled over the last five years, according to new figures compiled by the Guardian. The newspaper discovered on average one death a week last year. And that’s not a tragedy confined to big cities. Other research suggests the number of people sleeping rough in the countryside has risen by up to 32% in the past five years, and charities say focusing policy on urban areas won’t help. Public Lecture: Participatory Action Research in Rural Sport and Recreation Management

40:26
Public lecture for Kyle Rich's PhD dissertation. Abstract: The research conducted for this dissertation involved a participatory action research (PAR) project with the Municipality of Powassan Recreation Committee. Framed with the literature pertaining to sport and recreation development, community development, and rural community studies, the project aimed to explore the perceived significance of sport and recreation and the processes of sport and recreation management, as well as to inform changes to current management and policy making practices within the rural community context. This project also sought to identify strengths and challenges of PAR as well as to explore the processes through which researchers can work with community stakeholders as agents of change within the context of (rural) community sport and recreation management. This lecture will provide an overview of the project and include time for questions and discussion from the audience.
