A boat often refers to a spiritual journey, and this dream can show that you have an excellent mixture of new possibilities going forward. If you are relaxing on the boat, then this indicates safety, and that in the near future you will have good times with your family or friends.Crossing a stream in the boat, indicates that you open yourself for other shores, the consciousness extends and penetrates into new spiritual and mental regions. Dream interpretations also suggest that if you are dreaming about jumping off a boat and into the water, you are fearlessly attempting to confront all of your feelings. We've always dreamed of owning a large sailboat and calling it our home... Is this going to be that boat? Is there too much work to be done? You tell us... because we still haven't decided. This boat we check out is an Irwin 52' - a very luxurious sailing yacht in it's heyday, and some still are kept in amazing condition. One of these boats in good shape typically sells for $200,000 to $300,000, so the question is... is it worth buying this gutted boat for $25,000? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can support us on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/learningthelines Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. We finally made it! In October of this year we upped sticks from Brighton - UK and moved to Greece to live aboard our 53' Amel Super Maramu yacht. An unbelievably emotional and stressful time leading up to the day, but so much relief when we finally stepped aboard. A lifelong dream and a decade of ambitious planning - all the hard work and financial sacrifice has finally paid off. I don't think either of us has ever worked so hard and so long to realise a dream. So yes, we finally made it. We're now anchored in Greece in Two Rocks Bay where we've found time to catch up on some vlogging! I can't remember when the last vlog was, but there's been so much going on. Woody went to the boatyard in Greece - twice - with his Dad and then some mates to organise engineers, get the boat ready, launch it and do a shakedown sail. So while Woody was getting the boat ready I was organizing renting our home and making sure all the jobs were done to the house. There were lots of unfinished DIY jobs that I did with help from my friends. I was also trying to pack our bags to bring out you know, we had eight bags, a hundred and sixty kilos of luggage so I was trying to work out what we needed. I was also trying to order things for the boat which we needed like kiddy netting, a new computer, a printer, paperwork from the business, as well as doing our tax returns. I was trying to sort out health insurance cards, home schooling and in the evenings I would do tea and then when the kids went to bed I pretty much carried on for another five hours and evening working. I managed to fit in a little party on one afternoon too! The AirFish 8 (AF8) is an 8-10 seater WIG Craft with a 17m x 15m footprint. It is designed to be operated by 2 crew and carrying capacity for 6-8 passengers in standard civilian transport configuration. It is powered by a powerful yet compact V8 car engine that runs on 95 Octane automotive-grade unleaded gasolines. Airfish 8 is designed and built to adhere to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) guidelines. Safe and Comfortable Fast and Fuel Efficient Environmentally Friendly Minimum Infrastructure to Operate Fitted with the engine of a race car -- specifically a 7-litre V8 engine -- and resembling the look of a sleek seaplane, the Airfish 8 is in fact classified as a merchant ship. Based in Singapore, the company behind it, Wigetworks, hopes to change the way people travel and offer a whole host of other uses with this innovative craft. For Sim Wong Hoo, a shareholder of Wigetworks and Founder of Creative Technology, the goal is to “transform, or revolutionize the high-speed maritime transport industry.” Hovering about 2-6 metres above water and with the capability to reach top speed of 180 km/hr -- 2 to 3 times faster than ferries -- the Airfish 8 doesn’t require a jetty or runway to dock since it lands on water. This means that island-exploration becomes all the more easier as the craft can reach areas where ferries and boats would be unable to. Explaining the possibilities to explore the thousands of islands in Indonesia, Philippines, Polynesia and the Caribbean amongst others, Sim shares that the craft, which currently sits up to 8 passengers, will no doubt offer a better alternative for travel to these countries and “open up many hitherto unexplored frontiers.” Using technology first started by the Russians in 1960, the Airfish 8 itself is based on a German prototype and is the world’s first to be registered as a merchant ship with the Singapore Registry of Shipping. Utilizing the Wing-In-Ground (WIG) effect, the craft essentially flies close to the water surface while supported by a field of high-pressure air beneath its wings and above the water surface. This creates the impression that it's simply gliding above a cushion of air. Travelling above the water surface also means there’s no hydrodynamic drag, making the craft much more fuel-efficient. According to Sim, take off and landing is relatively swift and effortless when the water is flat, but it can get a little rough when the waves are high. However, that only lasts for about 30-45 seconds, and once airborne, the ride would be smooth and easy regardless of the waves below. Besides the obvious island-hopping, Sim also explains how the craft could prove beneficial in other areas such as crew transfer from base to off-shore oil platforms, paramilitary applications for coast guards and marine police, oil spill recovery, transportation of cargoes, goods, and fresh seafood, as well as other military applications. “WIGs fill in a very nice niche in that it travels at the speed of seaplanes and helicopters, in a far safer manner, at a cost that is not much more - probably around the same as a high-speed boat,” said Sim. Currently in the trial phase, the Airfish 8 is slated to be operational by the second half of 2018. As for future plans, the team at Wigetworks intends to lower costs in order to appeal to mid-range resorts for transfers, as well as to explore hybridization, autonomization and create bigger, safer and more efficient crafts that fit up to 20-40 passengers. Till then, it could do you no wrong to start planning trips to some of the unexplored islands in the region. Originally designed by David Beede for DuckWork's Magazine where it won the 2001 design contest. This is a slide show of my first attempt at building a wooden boat. I used cheap plywood and other materials that I had laying around. This is how I did it not how to do it. My methods are not the best ways to build a boat but it worked for a first attempt without spending much money.

FILMED ON MORECAMBE BEECH IN AUG 2017,USING DJI MAVIC PRO , USING FILTER ND8. The first use of the name Morecambe in modern times was by Whitaker in his History of Manchester (1771), when he refers to the æstury of Moricambe. It next appears four years later in 'Antiquities of Furness' where the bay is described as 'the Bay of Morecambe'. That name is derived from the Roman name shown on maps prepared for them by Claudius Ptolemœus (Ptolemy) from his original Greek maps. At this distance in time it is impossible to say if the name was originally derived from an earlier language (e.g. Celtic language) or from Greek. The Latin version describes the fourth inlet north from Wales on the west coast of England as Moriancabris Æsturis. Translated, this gives a more accurate description than the present name of Morecambe Bay as the Latin refers to multiple estuaries on a curved sea, not a bay, as then the word sinus or gulf would have been used. The name next crops up as early as March 1862 (before the town took the name officially) on a steam locomotive built for the South Durham and Lancashire Union Railway. Strangely, this was one of four locomotives in the class, and the others were each named after existing towns; No. 162 Saltburn, 163 Morecambe, 164 Belfast and 165 Keswick, which could indicate the name was already in unofficial use for the area. It was not until 1889 that the necessary legislation was passed to officially name the area as Morecambe, comprising the hamlets of Poulton, Bare and Torrisholme (a township for the purposes of the Census of 1841 but shown as separate townships in the previous Census of 1831). In 1894 the Urban District Council was formed, thus freeing Morecambe completely from its governance by the Borough of Lancaster until 1974 when Lancaster again took charge. Before the creation of Morecambe, Poulton acquired two suffixes, 'le Sands' and briefly 'on Sands' shown on at least one map. The reason for these additions stems from the dearth of names of townships in earlier times with the same name recurring over again. In the days before free movement of people, this was not so important. As travel became easier through first the turnpikes and later the railways, it became necessary to differentiate between the various towns with the same name, hence the additions. On 3 August 1928 the name changed again when the Corporation of Morecambe amalgamated with Heysham Urban District Council to form the borough of Morecambe and Heysham.
