►Check out my list of 50 incredible Indonesian foods: https://migrationology.com/indonesian-food/ ►Ken's channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtMgyCDsju9EtUf2yBM0aZw During my trip to Jakarta, I mostly remained in the city. But Ken and Gratiana from http://cowokrakus.com/ invited my wife Ying and I to go with them and their family on an Indonesian food trip to Bogor and the surrounding region (about an hour from Jakarta). Our first stop when we drove out of Jakarta and to Bogor was a famous place to eat Bogor style laksa at a restaurant called Laksa Bogor Pak Inin. It was exactly my kind of a restaurant, open air and local, with a wonderful friendly environment. The laksa was unlike any other laksa I’ve ever had, and it was fantastic. Laksa Bogor - 10,000 IDR ($0.72) Next, we stopped at a place called Toge Goreng Pak Abung, which is another legendary Indonesian food stop in Bogor, Indonesia, and they are famous for serving a bean sprout snack. It was definitely a very interesting dish, including a mixture of bean sprouts and fermented soy beans. Toge Goreng - 7,000 IDR ($0.51) Next we drove into the beautiful Indonesian countryside and to the house. After having some Indonesian snacks and refreshing coconut, we then took a hike to go look for honey. The beekeeper was sick on the day we went, so we we’re able to get any honey, but it was still a beautiful hike. The highlight of this Indonesian food trip for me was the Sundanese style Nasi Liwet Botram family feast that we had. All the food was laid out on banana leaves, and we all sat and ate some of the most beautiful and flavorful Indonesian food. It was an incredible culinary experience. We drove back to Bogor and stopped at Warung Nasi Ampera to eat a quick dinner, and because I wanted to try some ikan pepes. The food was alright, but nothing compared to the lunch feast we had eaten! Total price - 103,000 IDR ($7.46) for 3 plates of food Finally, back in Jakarta, we stopped near Manga Besar to have some desserts and to finish of this incredible day of Indonesian food. Sekoteng - 12,000 IDR ($0.87), Wedang Ronde - 12,000 IDR ($0.87) It was an incredible Indonesian food trip to the outskirts of Bogor, and a nice opportunity to get out of Jakarta for the day. A big thank you to Ken, Gratiana, and her family for inviting us to their house country house and for the amazing food. -- KEN: Videos : https://www.youtube.com/c/cowokrakustube Blog: http://cowokrakus.com/ MY WEBSITES: Migrationology.com: http://migrationology.com/ EatingThaiFood.com: http://eatingthaifood.com/ TravelByYing.com: http://travelbyying.com/ Camera I use: https://migrationology.com/travel-resources/ T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/ Get e-mail updates: https://migrationology.com/free-updates SOCIAL MEDIA: Snapchat: @migrationology Instagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology ►Jakarta Travel Guide: https://migrationology.com/travel-guides/jakarta-indonesia/ ►50 of the Best Indonesian Dishes: https://migrationology.com/indonesian-food/ -- Thank you for watching this Indonesian food video!

For most mothers, organising any wedding is stressful enough. But what if you are also an Australian born Royal Princess and expected to supervise complex Hindu traditions stretching back centuries? As the first non Balinese Royal bride, Princess Asri is also the buffer between her daughter-in-law to be and the rest of the Royal family, uncomfortable with the fact that the groom, Asri’s ‘Indo-Aussie’ son Max, is marrying a famous Indonesian actress, Happy Salma. And Happy’s Muslim family are none too happy about her marrying a Hindu, prince or not… With unique access to this extraordinary Royal Wedding, the audience travels deep into the heart of the little-known world of Balinese Hinduism as it smacks up against 21st century cross-cultural religious divide. Enter into a world of pomp and ceremony, obligations, strictly defined roles, business interests, politics and intrigue… Content Provided By TVF International. I love Indonesian food. I find the flavours similar to that of Thai cuisine yet distinct and wonderful in its own way. Nasi goreng is a simple fried rice that you can often find on the streets of Indonesia, but it is also really easy to make at home. What I love about it is the rich flavour from the sweet soy sauce and also the fun fixings that are placed around the plate—pickles, shrimp crackers, fried shallots, fried egg, fresh veggies...the options are endless! There are lots of variations on nasi goreng, and it's a great way to use up any end bits of vegetables or leftover meat. Let me know what you like on your nasi goreng! Alright alright... I feel like I have some clearing up to do because quite a few people are getting really angry and emotional when I got the accents wrong. Hey I'm just imitating the accents I hear.. Most people who complain that the accents don't sound like that, then continue to call me really negative things need to CHILL OUT, because most likely it's people from SAID country who denies. FOR EXAMPLE: indians don't think the accent sounds like that, neither do italians, or even chinese and pinoys. Well of course you'd deny, because you hear said accent most of the time and is probably used to it, or is more aware of the dialect. Me, I'm just a person who perceives and trying to share what those accents sound to me. Also, I really am not trying to be racist, or even is racist at all. Being racist is being prejudiced to a certain race, in which clearly in this video, I'm showcasing an array of different accents without ever talking about a superior or inferior race. So people, please get your facts straight before you go bombarding and harassing me. For all of you who enjoyed this video with a light heart and cool head, y'all are awesome. I hope I, at the very least, entertained you. Thank you. Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ketendangs Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kittendust

I was back in the lucky country the other month and happened to pick up on the ABC a supposed expert on Indonesia's economy explaining how terrible it was there for the locals on $2 a day, What this supposed expert DIDN"T mention was the price of commodities in Indonesia as opposed to the prices in OZ, for good reason most people would be shocked & pissed off if they knew how little Indonesians pay for practically everything, including Petrol which as I write is 45 cents ozzy, Our monthly power bill is $10 yes you read that right $10. It's still one of those silly public utilities here with the quaint idea that it's there to serve the people not profit for private investors. No GST, no ticket wielding police,In fact the police actually man intersections & help people radical ! no speed cameras, No road rules (except common sense) OMG i think it's called personal freedom to do what you like without hurting anyone else !. What a terrible place ! Increasingly I am realizing that the average Australian is actually poorer and more in debt than most Indonesians, the story constantly reinforced on Australia's MSM is that Australian's are much better off than those poor people in 3RD world countries, It's an easy storyline to sell because most people anywhere want to assume they are better off than their neighbours. But I have to tell you my situation in Australia in relation to providing for myself and covering costs would be much harder & a lower quality of life compared to the foods, utilities & rental costs here. I rented a 2 bedroom house in Bali for 2 years ending last year for the grand total of $1,500 per year ! try that in Oz more like 2 months at best, Of course not everyone wants to live here I know that, the main point is why does Australia cost so much more ? is it the price of production? are you telling me that international cigarette companies spend more making a cigarette in Australia / with it's mechanized systems of production? ok let's say they spend twice as much per cigarette it still doesn't make up the gap. Somehow cigarette companies can put 20 ciggies in a nice shiny packet and have them on the shelves RETAIL for $1 ozzy. so let's assume the wholesale price is 50 cents per pack.Obviously the only significant difference must be the taxation, This is not about the pro's & cons of smoking it's about the price of a commodity. Obviously there is very little Government taxation involved in Indonesian cigarettes. This is also reflected in most other commodities, So one has to assume that the major inflater of costs is taxation, And by the looks of it Australians are being Taxed to the shithouse.Another way of putting it is HARVESTED of their personal wealth, From where I'm standing it's the " lucky country to be out of ".It's still a crown owned operation and the so called freedoms enjoyed look like an illusion designed for people who would prefer to not look too hard at the reality of their situation, Bring on the footy & all is well. All i know here is no matter what I do on the roads there will be no police fine waiting for me in my letterbox in a weeks time. That's not what the driving experience feels like in Australia anymore, One momentary lapse in Australia and your gone, everyone is on edge most of the time they are driving, constantly checking the speedo in case it's crept over the limit. Don't tell me it's not like that I know I live there also from time to time, Policing is a corporate entity in Australia designed to fleece the sheep nothing more, nothing else makes sense.

Governments should provide a universal basic income / 정부는 기본 소득 제공을 보장해야한다. What would it be like if governments provided an unconditional sum of money to all citizens regardless of income or property owned? That way, we can spread the wealth in our society, thereby reducing the growing inequality across the nation or even the world. However, others claim that recipients might lose sight of the value of hard work, which is one of the most noble and treasured aspects of life. Voted the most delicious food in the world, this Indonesian/Malaysian beef curry is one of the most complex flavoured dishes I've ever made. Herbs, spices and coconut milk are slowly cooked and reduced into a thick flavourful sauce that coats the fork tender beef. It's a dish that takes patience, but it's quite easy and is well worth every minute spent. Beef is my favourite but you can also try making chicken rendang, using bone-in dark meat chicken. Live Mud Crabs Cooked Three Ways: 1) Chili Crab 2) Black Bean Crab 3) Smoked Spicy Crab Wrapped in Banana Leaf (Kepiting Asap) Kepiting Asap is a traditional Indonesian dish that consists of barbecuing a giant mud crab wrapped in banana leaves along with shrimp paste, shallots, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and chili sambal rendang. It also called kepiting bakar. The wrapped mud crab is grilled over high heat charcoal until the banana leaves are charred, which allows the smokey aroma to infuse into the crab.

Hot Ones alums Joji and Rich Brian are tired of being on the receiving end of fiery chicken wings. Hoping to make a splash at their new L.A. party pad, the guys decide to team up with Howlin' Ray's chef Johnny Zone for a crash-course in all-things spicy chicken before their inaugural bash. Homesick for Jakarta, and craving some familiar food, Brian asks Johnny to put an Indonesia spin on one of his favorite meals, cooking the wings in coconut water and topping them with a searing, ghost chili-laced sambal. Will Joji and Brian earn a spot on the Howlin' Ray's line after their tutorial, or leave the kitchen with third-degree oil burns? Find out out on the SERIES PREMIERE of Feast Mansion. On the tropical island of Bali, Indonesia, there are homes tucked into the jungle that look like something out of a fairytale. They're designed to have soaring roof lines, few walls or windows - and nearly everything is fashioned from bamboo. Seth Doane reports.

UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2008 URL: https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/wayang-puppet-theatre-00063 Description: Renowned for its elaborate puppets and complex musical styles, this ancient form of storytelling originated on the Indonesian island of Java. For ten centuries wayang flourished at the royal courts of Java and Bali as well as in rural areas. Wayang has spread to other islands (Lombok, Madura, Sumatra and Borneo) where various local performance styles and musical accompaniments have developed. While these carefully handcrafted puppets vary in size, shape and style, two principal types prevail: the three-dimensional wooden puppet (wayang klitik or golèk) and the flat leather shadow puppet (wayang kulit) projected in front of a screen lit from behind. Both types are characterized by costumes, facial features and articulated body parts. The master puppeteer (dalang) manipulates the swivelling arms by means of slender sticks attached to the puppets. Singers and musicians play complex melodies on bronze instruments and gamelan drums. In the past, puppeteers were regarded as cultivated literary experts who transmitted moral and aesthetic values through their art. The words and actions of comic characters representing the ordinary person have provided a vehicle for criticizing sensitive social and political issues, and it is believed that this special role may have contributed to wayangs survival over the centuries. Wayang stories borrow characters from indigenous myths, Indian epics and heroes from Persian tales. The repertory and performance techniques were transmitted orally within the families of puppeteers, musicians and puppet-makers. Master puppeteers are expected to memorize a vast repertory of stories and to recite ancient narrative passages and poetic songs in a witty and creative manner. The Wayang Puppet Theatre still enjoys great popularity. However, to compete successfully with modern forms of pastimes such as video, television or karaoke, performers tend to accentuate comic scenes at the expense of the story line and to replace musical accompaniment with pop tunes, leading to the loss of some characteristic features. The term gamelan refers to the ensemble of percussion instruments on which traditional gamelan music of Java and Bali is played. A complete Javanese court-style gamelan comprises two sets of instruments, one for each tuning system: sléndro (a five-tone scale) and pélog (a seven-tone scale). And now, Gamelan is spreading in America and some other country, they even have special class of Gamelan in some of their University. Of course, after they askd permission from Indonesia. http://www.TheSurfChannel.com https://www.facebook.com/localstylesurf?fref=ts You can find modern convenience stores throughout Indonesia, but it's their morning produce markets where you'll see what nourishes the country's soul. After hours of surfing, hunger kicked in, so Local Style traveled to the foothills of Mount Agung in East Bali to find organic and healthy food options. They had a chance to tour the colorful Amlapura market and absorb the sounds and smells, sample some produce and check out what the hustle and bustle was all about. ___________________________________ The Surf Channel will be an original, free, ad supported television network delivered on cable, satellite and IPTV services, web and wireless. I've never worked in Japan. I mean I work in Japan, but I work from my home and have never needed Japanese language or workplace skills. But I do know people who have, so I set up interviews with 8 of them to see what their experiences were like. All of them worked in the "real" Japanese workplace, from small, modern companies to big traditional ones. Or in other words, they worked jobs that didn't involve teaching English. They needed to be proficient in the Japanese language and business culture. All the interviewees speak English, have lived outside of Japan for some period of time, and have university degrees. So these are not your typical Japanese workers, let's just be ultra clear on that. But I think they do help give insight into what it's like working in Japan and how it compares to working in a global or Western workplace. This is the short version of the interviews. For the hour long version please check it out at https://youtu.be/qrWkgVu2MHo **CORRECTION: It's illegal to not pay overtime, even for full-time employees. There can be some exceptions for management. So I was wrong in saying that full-time employees don't typically get paid overtime. Sorry for the screw up.
