Find out when your glove fits like a glove and when it doesn't! https://gentl.mn/glove-fit-sizing Interested in the scarf I am wearing? Visit the link below. Reversible Scarf in Navy Blue and Red Silk Wool Polka Dots and Paisley: https://gentl.mn/2lHeWmJ I'm sure you've heard of the saying "fits like a glove" but what exactly does it mean? The first thing to consider when you buy a glove is that you want the glove to be tight. What does that mean? When you go in for the first time, there shouldn't be excess material, it should all fit neatly like a second layer of skin right next to it. Bare in mind, glove leather is flexible and will stretch over time so rather get something that feels too tight than something that is too loose. The second aspect of gloves is the lengths of the fingers. Make sure that the thumb fits just like the fingers. Most of the time, you cannot go with your finger all the way to the skin but sometimes there's just like half an inch or 2 cm in between and you can't get there. Now, they still may feel like they fit but once you've worn a glove that really fits, there's no comparison and you don't want to go back anymore. Ideally, you want the quirks to be very close to your skin. Now obviously, an unlined glove will always look more elegant than a lined glove. Most people would think this is a well fitting glove however, if you look closely, there is excess material here in the side and therefore, it's half a size too big for me. Otherwise, it's pretty good nevertheless, this is lightly too big and over time, it will become bigger. Check the glove, wear it and when in doubt, always go with a size smaller. This brings us to glove sizing. Most source today have sizes in small, medium, large, sometimes, you find gloves that are one size fits all but there is no such thing as the glove that fits all hands, it's simply impossible especially when it's made of leather. Traditional glove sizes are in 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 9.5 and so forth. At Fort Belvedere, we carry all of our gloves in six different sizes. I also pay particular attention to the cut so we designed the cut with slightly longer fingers for larger hands and shorter fingers for smaller hands so you get the best and most elegant fit. With our range of 6 sizes, we cover about 99% of all men and it's just important that you measure your hand correctly. So how to determine your glove size? You need a measuring tape. First, determine what your dominant hand is. In my case, it's the right one. Then , you measure around the widest part of your hand, once around without the thumb like so. Take the measuring tape, hold it tight, get around and you want to keep it tight. In my case, it's 8.5 so my glove size is going to be 8 and 1/2. If you measure in centimeters, simply divide that number by 2.54. If you're in between sizes, always go down. For example, if you measure 9.2, 9.3, 9.25, go with size 9. If you measure 7.4, you probably go with a 7.5 because it's already a small hand but in general, always go down a size because the glove will stretch and it's a flexible material. Also, if you have particularly long fingers, our gloves will definitely work for you if you go with a smaller size. If you have a wide hand and short fingers, also go a size down. Don't go with the regular size. Our gloves will adapt and you will get a much better fit out of them. One of the most important factors of fit is something you actually cannot see. It's basically the softness of the glove. This glove here is made of Lamb Nappa from Fort Belvedere, it has quirks and when I move my hands, it's just very soft. I don't feel much resistance, it's very comfortable and neat. On the other hand, I have a glove here that's from a cheaper retailer and the gloves feel very stiff. The leather is stiff, when I move I can feel it pull everywhere and it's not something I can show you in the video really, it's something you have to experience. Once you wear the glove, you'll know immediately what I mean. So if the glove feels particularly stiff, it's usually not the best choice. Of course, it also depends on the leather, lamb nappa and peccary have this soft, subtle feel that is one of a kind and you will not find that in deer skin or bison skin or cheaper leathers that are used usually when you buy a pair of gloves for 30 bucks. ======================================= To never miss any of our videos again, sign up here for free: https://gentl.mn/1RV8yTu Want to see more videos? Of course, if you want soft, girly hands "like mine" that are strong as steel and look and feel good, spend a few bucks and buy online at wholesale prices. Instead of say 6 to 7 bucks a pair at the stores or material yards, they are about 2 or 3 bucks online. This is how old Kirk saves cash and stops the poisons from entering through the skin. Don't believe, take some garlic mash into a paste put just a tiny amount on the bottom of your foot, wrap with plastic wrap, then put a sock on, you will taste the garlic in less than an hour, this is an experiment, don't leave the garlic there too long. After 30 years I still have men come to work with me now, if they are not wearing gloves I ask, "dude, where's your gloves"? many still say I don't need or wear them! Then when I explain why they can't sleep or have a bowel movement and are sick 24/7 most than say, "got an extra pair?" Of course, I have at least a dozen on my truck always, can't have my sons and daughters poisoning themselves by not wearing gloves. As the food today does this already. In this video I was asked what gloves us plasterers ware to keep our hand dry, this is my response. You can't really feel anything and they limit the range of movement. On the other hand, a quality glove is soft, stretchy and it looks very elegant when it's on your hand. A few years back, I was sick and tired of the same old black and brown gloves and I decided to create my own line of Fort Belvedere gloves. I wanted something that was bolder in colors. I wanted something in grey or chamois yellow which are classic staples of a men's wardrobe. As well as Bordeaux or green or other colors. So for gloves, it all starts with a pattern. The important part is that you get different sizes that work well for men's hands no matter if they're short or small, regular or bigger long. Most cheaper glove sizes are just scaled up on a computer in a CAD program but that doesn't really fit the needs of most men. First of all, you want a quality pair of glove leather and not many tanners can actually produce that very specialized tanning process. So you want something that is soft and stretchy so your hand can move freely. We get our sheepskin leathers which are supremely soft have exactly the right thickness and properties from Italy and our peccary leather from Germany. Second, glove leather has to be constantly pulled and stretched because that ensures that the glove is cut the right way and later on you can move freely with your fingers no matter if you make a fist or keep your hands straight. Now that the leather is prepared, it's time for cutting. Cutting sounds easier than it actually is. You have to position the pattern the right way. On skins like peccary where you have natural scars and imperfections, it's the skill of the cutter to put the gloves in a certain way that you get the best quality with having the least amount of visible scars at the same time without wasting leather because that would price up the final price Once the leather is cut properly, it's time to sew them up. Basically, there are two options. You can have a machine sewn glove and a handsewn glove. Not all machine sewn gloves are alike. You basically can sew a glove inside out which is often a method utilized in China or in a lower-cost production or you can have very skilled artisans who sew them with a machine from the outside. Now when I say machine sewn that means it's a simple machine and they still have to align the leather. They have to control the stitch density. They have to get the lines straight and make sure that the interlining is exactly in the right spot so you end up with a glove that fits well and looks the part. Which brings us to the next kind, handsewn glove. When we say handsewn glove we mean every single stitch on that thing is handsewn. There's no machine involved. Yes, that's just a skilled sewer who does one stitch at a time and just a few gloves per day. In fact, sometimes they can even just produce one pair of gloves per day. Obviously, that's slower than sewing it with a machine and because of that, a pair of handsewn gloves is more expensive. You might think we're done by now, however, we're not. Now it's time to iron the glove to release any kind of wrinkles and it looks really perfect. If we wanted to we could now even add a second stage of ironing with a little iron and that would add a little more shine to the leather but we believe that a classic pair of men's gloves shouldn't be too shiny but have a medium shine so we skip that step. #notsponsored #govesformen #leathergloves -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? Like the scarf I am wearing? Follow the link below. Alpaca Scarf Double Sided in Light Brown and Oatmeal: https://gentl.mn/2knGfki In this video talk about how to wear and care for your leather gloves. Let's talk about how to wear gloves. Usually, you put them on when you're at home and ideally, you want to make sure that you are gentle with your gloves. Here's how you do it. First, just put in your hand and pull gently at the cuff. Second, you go with your finger in between the quirks to get it all in and pull once more so they're tight. Last but not the least, you button the button. In order to maintain your gloves, make sure that they last for a long time, this is what you should not do. Most people simply pull their glove with one finger and that's all they do. This puts a lot of strain on your glove and over time, it will be more wrinkly and a single rip and it's not good for the leather. Instead, what you should do first, you should open the button. Second, you should gently pull on each finger just a little bit so you loosen the glove. Then, take all the fingers and pull at the same time, that puts less strain on your gloves and you'll be able to wear them for much longer. Once you've pulled the gloves off your hand, make sure that everything is flat and store them laying flat on top of each other. Do not crumple them, it's terrible for your gloves and they will be bad over time. Always make sure they're in shape and you store them flat. When you have white gloves or white colored gloves, make sure not to put them right next to other gloves of very dark colors because some of the colors may rub off and ruin your leather colored gloves. When you're outside wearing your gloves and you're meeting somebody, it's common customs to remove the glove. Traditionally, it was also okay to leave the glove on but I think in this day and age, it's better to remove the glove to shake hands and put the glove back on. In terms of glove colors and how to combine them, I've found that you actually don't need a lot of colors even though it's really fun to have more of them. The basic four colors I would recommend to every gentleman are these four; burgundy, gray, a tan and a chamois yellow. Between those four colors, you can basically combine anything in your wardrobe. No matter whether it's black, navy, charcoal, grey, green, brown, orange, yellow, you name it, you will have one pair of gloves that will work with it. Of course, once you have these four colors, you always want to try something else. For example, we have a petrol blue and we're working on new colors as well so, stay tuned and there are always more things you can add to your wardrobe to get those extra 5% that make you look particularly dapper and elegant. If you want to buy your first pair of gloves and you're not sure what color, I suggest you either go with grey or chamois yellow. Grey is preferable if you have an office job, you wear a lot of suits and it's just something that works well with classic, professional outfits.Chamois yellow on the other hand is fantastic if you are in a more casual profession where the dress code is more relaxed. That being said, I could also wear the coat I'm wearing right now or a grey overcoat with chamois yellow. For the second pair of gloves, I recommend you go with the burgundy color. Burgundy is great because it's not as bright as chamois yellow but it's a little more subtle and it still works with a lot of colors. I assure you, you'll get compliments once you wear grey, yellow, petrol blue or burgundy gloves because they are unusual but they work with your outfits and they go with so many things and people notice it and they will be jealous. If you have a pair of peccary leather gloves, chances are, your lining will wear out before the leather wears out so if that happens, you can have the lining. In case your gloves ever get wet or they have water stains, what you do is make the entire glove wet and you let them air dry. Not on the radiator, not with a hair dryer, just air dry, flat, pull them to shape, let them dry and once the glove is dry, it's going to feel much harder but if you wear them a couple of times, it'll be soft again. In order to make them wet, just gently apply the water with your hand, don't dunk them into the water and never wring your gloves, that's going to be bad for your leather, just treat them very gently. ======================================= To never miss any of our videos again, sign up here for free: https://bit.ly/236I4qp Want to see more videos? https://gentl.mn/mens-leather-gloves Do you like the scarf I am wearing in the video? Click on the link below. Reversible Scarf in Burgundy Red, Green and Yellow Silk Wool Paisley and Stripes: https://gentl.mn/2knCyuR Today's video is about glove leather and linings so you find the one that's best for you. 1. Cowhide and bison hide. Cowhide is very common for leather goods however, not so much for gloves because it's not a flexible leather. For your hands, when you move, you want things to be flexible and therefore it's very hard to find. I'm wearing a pair of bison gloves here right now and I can tell it's a thicker leather, it's hard wearing and it's good for work gloves but maybe not the best choice for formal dress gloves. 2. Deer skin. Deer skin leather is very popular with gloves because it's softer but also durable. As you can see here, if it's thin, it makes for a very elegant glove. If you want to learn more about glove details, please check out this video. Generally, deer skin is very popular with outdoorsy folks and it's also used for work gloves. 3. Goat skin is another leather that is widely used simply because it is inexpensive. The problem of goat skin is it's cheap, wrinkles easily and it's not just a very beautiful glove leather. So if you can, avoid goat skin leathers. 4. Lamb Nappa is one of the best leathers because it's extremely flexible so it feels very comfortable when you wear it and it's also really soft. It ages quite well, it gets sophisticated wrinkles and a patina that is really nice to look at. For that reason, we use finest Italian lamb nappa leather for our Fort Belvedere gloves. 5. Hair sheep leather. Hair sheep is often confused with lamb Nappa. They're very similar, some people say that hair sheep is a little more durable but at the same time, it's also not as soft as lamb Nappa. 6. Sheep skin leather or shearling leather. It's a little stiffer and with the shearling, it definitely keeps you warm but it's just for a cold winter not for dress gloves. They simply look too bulky and are not elegant enough to wear with an overcoat. Maybe if you leave in the woods or if you're an outdoors man, it's a viable option otherwise, personally I'd stay away from shearling. 7. Peccary leathers. Peccary comes from a South African mammal, sometimes people refer to it as a wild boar but in fact it's more closely related to the javelina and it's its own species. Peccary leather as you can see here, has a beautiful texture. It has these prongs that are very unique to it and it's a very soft leather. The longer you wear it, the softer it gets and at the same time it's extremely durable and the peccary glove will last twenty years for sure if you take care of them. What's really important is that a peccary is a wild animal, as such they scratch their skin and when they get shot, you have little marks so peccary is unlike other leathers, it will have some blemishes but it's the softest you can get but there will always be some variations that just adds to the character and the patina of this wonderful glove. People often confuse peccary leather with carpincho leather. carpincho has a slightly suede texture, has also it's characteristic prong but it's not quite as high quality than peccary leather. It also comes from South America and is often falsely labeled as peccary so definitely watch out when you see something that looks a little bolder in a pattern like this, this is a carpincho leather, it's less expensive but not as durable and not as soft. Glove Linings: 1. For men's dress gloves, a unusual but excellent lining is alpaca. Alpaca comes from Peru. It's best because it's very fine which means it's very soft to the touch and naturally, there is an air chamber inside the hair which acts as an insulator therefore, alpaca lining is warmer than a wool lining or a cashmere lining. 2. Cashmere comes from the cashmere goat, it's a very soft lining and therefore, it's very popular. It's about as warm as wool, not as warm as an alpaca. 3. Wool linings are also very popular, it's just a less expensive option compared to alpaca or cashmere. 4. Silk linings are used for evening gloves or very fine gloves. It just helps you to get into the glove more easily at the same time, they are not really insulating. ======================================= To never miss any of our videos again, sign up here for free: https://gentl.mn/227UKHH Want to see more videos? Safety gloves are very important when working or carrying out DIY. Each year thousands of people end up in hospital due to injuries that could have been prevented by wearing the correct safety gloves or work gloves. Some of the sites I work on make it mandatory to wear cut resistant safety gloves all the time when out on the shop floor, if you get seen without any of your PPE (personal protective equipment) you will be disciplined and could be removed from site! In the UK it is actually a legal requirement to wear PPE as set out by the HSE (health and safety executive). Work gloves and safety gloves are an integral part of PPE legislation and are worn as the last line of protection against injury.

2 Problems with Work Gloves: 1.) When it comes to work gloves, many people lose or misplace them. The other problem is where to immediately put them, while working on projects or on-site. 2.) Do you have sweaty hands? The sweat from your hands always ends up being absorbed by your gloves. Where do you place those wet gloves? Your back pocket (where they commonly fall out of)? Your tool box where they can develop glove stink? If you are in construction, rehabbing, DIY'er, or weekend warrior, and have these problems, then this piece of equipment is perfect for you. Before you spend money on gloves, check this video out. Great tips on how to prevent the worry of the 2 biggest problems of gloves!!! www.GHandle.com

Mechanix Winter Gloves: http://amzn.to/2yremzu The Mechanix Winter Armor Gloves are the best I have tried for keeping my hands warm while keeping finger dexterity. I have tried Ironclad, FirmGrip/FG, Dewalt, Leather, and even all of the other Mechanix model work gloves. Working in extremely cold conditions throughout the day (-10 Fahrenheit), I still need to be able to use my hands. Moving boxes, writing inventory on a clipboard... The Mechanix Winter Armor gloves have worked the best out of all of the glove models I have tried. Sure, they are not perfect. They are not waterproof, but they are water resistant. I wouldnt make this video if I did not feel so strongly about them. After purchasing new gloves so many times for work, I feel that these have held up the best for me. Full Nylon shell, Wind Resistant Lining, Water Resistant Palm... These are great gloves if you work in a relatively dry environment in cold temperatures.

Never want the hassle of taking off your gloves when using your smartphone? https://gentl.mn/2A7zs7w Find out what goes into producing top-notch leather gloves: https://gentl.mn/2zxoQlm I don't know about you but I use my phone an awful lot; whether it is to communicate with people, checking my emails, checking stats, or whatever it is that you have to do. The phone is something I touch multiple times a day. Personally, I love to wear gloves because they elevate my outfit so they are not just functional when it is cold outside but also during the transitioning season when Igo with unlined gloves. The problem I have whenever I use my phone, I have to take off my glove. If it is really cold, my hand gets cold, and then sometimes, the touchscreen does not react to it as well anymore and it is just a big hassle. So our goal at Fort Belvedere was to create a glove that is nice but at the same time, having a touchscreen ability. We really love our soft supple lamb Nappa gloves and so we first started by adding a touchscreen solution to the inside of the glove and tried to work that way. The problem was it would sometimes work, and sometimes not, and it was quite frustrating. Because of that, we never sold them as being touchscreen sensitive even though some of the gloves actually work. Because it was unsatisfactory, we switched to adding the touchscreen ability to the tanning and dyeing process of the leather and now, it works like a charm. I can scroll with a touch of the finger, even the glove itself is touch sensitive so it does not matter if your hand is cold or warm, it would always work. You can actually type or swipe, you can move around, navigate, zoom in, and using our gloves on a screen now is pretty much like using your bare hand. Now obviously, that is a huge advantage and personally, I love it and the downside is the leather is much stiffer than before and it is not as soft and supple. Unfortunately, at this point, there is nothing we can do about that so it is either you get a soft and supple leather or you get a touchscreen sensitive leather. Because we realized that not everyone wants a touchscreen sensitive glove and some people appreciate soft gloves more than others, we are offering both kinds in our shop. To gauge interest, we started with our burgundy gloves that you can find in a touchscreen version and a non-touchscreen version so if that is popular and we see there is demand for it, we will extend that and offer more gloves all with touchscreen and without. Of course, the finishing, the details, and the fit of our touchscreen glove is exactly like the ones from our regular lamb Nappa gloves. That means they are all hand cut in Hungary, they are then handsewn in Hungary by experienced sewers, all the piping, and the leather is all the same, you have the quirks in the middle of the finger that help you keep your fingers moving. Visit our blog at: http://wp.me/p5Qkne-Pw Work gloves can be one of the most important items that you wear while working anywhere near sharp items. While working yesterday without the Milwaukee Demolition gloves, we had the following scenario happened to us. The project we were working on was going great. We had about an hour to go before we set the project aside for a week and we started to push a bit harder to get some things complete. While using a sawzall, the blade hit the side of a long metal piece and gave some kickback. Our friends hand was a bit to close and the bent blade grazed his finger. It was not an emergency, but he was bleeding. His work was stopped for a while while he applied a shop rag and electrical tape, but overall, that small accident would never have happened if his hand would not have been where it was or if he has some gloves on.
