Does anybody know what strings he is using, because if I bend my strings they break very fast. While I see other people bending it very much
John Hutchinson (3 months ago)
If they are breaking easily or regularly you may have them tuned an Octave too high (wound too tight). Detune your Guitar down until the strings play their name again. Guitar strings are pretty resilient and shouldn't break easily. If they are wound too tight you'll find that the neck will be bending too, making it go out of tune really quickly.
EricBlackmonGuitar (10 months ago)
Hi GP! I use D'addario EXL120+(9.5 - 44) . They bend a lot easier than 10-46 sets and sound a lot like 10's! They really work well on my Strats! Thanks so much for watching my video! Thanks, Eric: you make it all seem so simple! Love this video: it makes sense the way you explain it; how one thing links to and is related to the other on the fretboard without getting too much into the theory behind it all.

Hi Eric. I am so happy I found your videos. I have watched hundreds of  videos about playing guitar but yours are by far the best and so easy to understand.  I just starting playing the guitar and trying to learn the scales was becoming so confusing.  I am practicing all of your lessons and have improved a lot. I cant believe NOT that many views on some of your videos, well it's their loss. Thanks for doing such a great job.

Hey Eric, I just discovered your videos tonight and I am already hooked! I notice that, at least with the "playing without thinking about scales" series, they tend to run in length around the 10-min mark but they seem like they're much shorter because I'm watching every second and learning cool stuff and then it's over! Anyway, I subscribed and I'll be watching all of them, man. I'm 57 and have been playing on and off for over 40 years but have never quite taken my soloing playing skills to the next level but I think that might change now, after watching your no-nonsense, straightforward approach to teaching this stuff. Thanks so much!
EricBlackmonGuitar (3 years ago)
Hi! You nailed it! I try to keep them under 10 minutes so that viewers don't get run off by long video length. Keeping to the material helps to keep the viewers interest. I am working on a new "No Scales" tutorial that will teach how to solo through key changes of "modulations". I should be quite interesting! Thanks so much for finding my channel!
